The HR & Business Development Assistant will support
the delivery of HR services. The role
is suitable for someone with practical HR knowledge who is also confident in
sales, client engagement and business development.
The successful candidate will support recruitment and HR
consulting assignments while actively generating leads, following up with prospects,
supporting proposal development, and helping convert opportunities into paying
clients. The role will be approximately 50% HR and recruitment support and 50%
business development, sales and client relations.
• Identify potential clients for recruitment, training, HR advisory, payroll,
outsourcing and related HR services.
• Conduct direct outreach through calls, emails, LinkedIn, referrals and
networking.
• Generate and qualify new business leads and schedule meetings with
decision-makers.
• Support preparation of proposals, quotations, presentations and service
agreements.
• Follow up with prospects consistently and support negotiations through contract
closure.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and update the CRM regularly.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities among existing clients.
• Work towards agreed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Receive and review client recruitment requirements.
• Prepare vacancy advertisements and job descriptions.
• Source, screen and shortlist candidates using databases, LinkedIn, job
boards and referrals.
• Conduct preliminary candidate interviews and prepare assessment summaries.
• Coordinate client interviews, references and candidate communication.
• Update candidate and recruitment records in the recruitment system.
• Support successful placement and onboarding of candidates.
• Assist with HR advisory and consulting assignments.
• Support development and review of HR policies, procedures and employee
handbooks.
• Assist with job descriptions, organizational structures, performance
management and employee-engagement projects.
• Participate in HR audits, salary benchmarking and organizational
assessments.
• Conduct research and prepare HR reports, presentations and recommendations.
• Gradually manage smaller HR advisory assignments independently.
• Support training needs assessments and preparation of training proposals
and materials.
• Coordinate trainers, venues, participants and logistics.
• Support participant registration and training administration.
• Collect and analyze training evaluations.
• Identify follow-on training and consulting opportunities.
• Facilitate selected training sessions where appropriate.
• Build strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Maintain regular communication with assigned corporate accounts.
• Follow up after assignments to assess satisfaction and identify additional
needs.
• Support client retention, repeat business, referrals and cross-selling.
• Respond promptly and professionally to client enquiries and concerns.
• Support preparation of expressions of interest, proposals and tenders.
• Conduct research required for business proposals.
• Prepare client presentations and capability statements.
• Maintain records of submitted proposals and follow-up dates.
• Produce weekly sales and business-development reports.
• Track leads, meetings, proposals, conversion rates, and revenue.
• Research potential clients and emerging HR market opportunities.
• Monitor competitors and industry developments.
• Identify relevant corporate events, conferences and networking
opportunities.
• Support the company's LinkedIn and professional visibility activities.
• Represent the company professionally at selected networking events.
• Identify potential strategic partnerships and referral opportunities.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Marketing
or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in HR, recruitment, business development, sales or client
relationship management.
• Good understanding of recruitment and basic HR processes.
• Experience preparing proposals, reports and presentations.
• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with CRM or recruitment systems will be an advantage.
• Strong sales and business-development ability.
