Headquartered in Boston, with locations in Singapore, London, and Sydney, we manage over $232 billion on behalf of leading institutions worldwide—including pension funds, endowments, foundations, and sovereign wealth funds. We harness advanced technology, rich datasets, and multidisciplinary expertise to help clients navigate complex markets and uncover insights that may be overlooked by traditional approaches.

What sets Acadian apart is our people. We foster a collaborative, intellectually curious environment where ideas are tested, diverse perspectives are welcomed, and innovation thrives. We’re united by a shared purpose: delivering effective client outcomes and supporting one another in work that’s both challenging and rewarding. We offer a flexible hybrid work environment, strong benefits, and a casual but focused office culture—all designed to support the meaningful, collaborative work that defines Acadian.

Position Overview:

Our Human Resources team supports the business and employees throughout the employee lifecycle, delivering a wide range of HR programs and services. We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join the team to support these programs and services, contribute to a positive employee experience, and build a strong foundation in the HR profession. HR Assistants will have primary responsibilities within designated areas of HR while also contributing to work across the broader team based on business needs and priorities. The role provides hands-on experience with the day-to-day work of a global HR function and exposure to a range of HR disciplines and processes, with the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as knowledge and capabilities develop.

Success in this role requires accuracy, sound judgment and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information, and the ability to manage time-sensitive responsibilities with consistent follow-through. HR Assistants will interact with employees and managers at all levels of the organization and are expected to approach their work with professionalism, responsiveness, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.

What You Will Do:

  • Support recruiting and hiring activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communications, job postings, offer letter preparation, background screening, and maintaining candidate information in the applicant tracking system.
  • Support new hire onboarding and help deliver a positive first-day experience, including coordinating New Employee Orientation across new hires, managers, HR, and other internal teams; conducting the HR portion of orientation; processing required documentation; and creating accurate electronic employee records.
  • Help execute key HR programs and processes, including performance management, by coordinating activities and timelines, providing system and process support, assisting with process communications, and ensuring processes run smoothly and accurately.
  • Maintain and update HR resources and content on the company intranet, helping ensure employees and managers globally have access to accurate, current, and well-organized information across HR programs and processes.
  • Support HR systems, data, and reporting, including processing employee transactions, maintaining and validating data, preparing recurring and ad hoc reports, and assisting with system administration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Look for opportunities to improve HR processes and ways of working, including exploring how technology and emerging AI capabilities can be used to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the employee experience.
  • Cross-train in other areas of HR and contribute to programs, projects, and priorities based on business needs.

We’re Looking for Teammates With:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 0–2 years of relevant professional experience; prior HR experience is a plus but not required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
  • A strong sense of ownership and follow-through, with the ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions or escalate an issue.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and professionally with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort with technology and data, with an interest in learning new systems and using technology to improve how work gets done.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with HR systems, collaboration platforms, or similar business applications is a plus.

The base salary range for this role is $70,000 – $80,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and includes participation in Acadian’s comprehensive benefits program, which includes health, retirement, and wellness offerings.
