Summary
The ESG Lead is a key leadership position at our Taiwan headquarters, responsible for overseeing the global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives. This role involves working closely with internal teams to implement the ESG strategies according to the organization's long-term goals. Additionally, the ESG Lead will manage the creation of CSR/ESG annual reports and publications, ensuring they meet international standards.
Key Accountabilities:
Leadership and Project Management
- Lead the global ESG project from Taiwan HQ and manage relevant activities with result orientation.
- Work in conjunction with internal stakeholders in implementing and executing the global ESG project according to the Group’s medium-to long-term ESG roadmap and priorities.
- Lead the drafting and compilation of CSR/ESG annual report/publication according to global standards.
Stakeholder Engagement and Client Relations
- Handle clients’ ESG enquiries and work with relevant internal stakeholders to provide timely and satisfactory response.
- Continue to keep up to date with market practices and client requirements, working closely with client coverage teams to understand the latest requirements of key global customers.
- Develop presentation materials and talking points on sustainability and ESG-related topics and themes for engagement and track follow up needs and responses.
Data Management and Reporting
- Establish framework and internal standards for ongoing collection and tracking of ESG related data.
- Assist with data analysis and reporting across a range of ESG metrics, including greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions data collection and management.
Innovation and Product Development
- Work in conjunction with product teams in devising green logistics solutions for customers.
- Work with products and stations in driving sustainable procurement compliance.
Qualifications
Experience and Industry Knowledge
- 5+ years’ experience in driving sustainability implementation for a global organization or related consulting experience
- Experience of working with logistics or freight forwarding industry is preferable but not a must
Communication and Language Proficiency
- Excellent project management, communication and presentation skills, and written and oral proficiency in English and Mandarin
Expertise in ESG Principles
- In-depth knowledge of ESG topics across working and employment conditions, health & safety, environment and climate change, business ethics and their application in supply chain
- Good understanding of ESG procurement frameworks.
Analytical and Strategic Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to translate strategic insights into tangible and actionable plans
Project Management and Leadership
- Experience in project management skills
- Ability to own and drive initiatives independently with attention to detail and be result oriented
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder landscape and influence key stakeholders at multiple levels.
