Job DescriptionThe Role
Clifford Chance's Houston office is seeking a talented junior associate to join its Corporate Transactions & Advisory team. The successful candidate will work closely with leading practitioners across the Houston office on a broad range of domestic and cross-border corporate transactions and strategic commercial matters, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic investments, with an emphasis on the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of recent law firm experience and a strong foundation in corporate transactions. Successful candidates will be capable of managing significant transaction workstreams, assisting with transaction documents and management of due diligence, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and providing practical, commercially focused advice to clients. The role offers meaningful responsibility, and opportunities to work on some of the most innovative and strategically significant transactions in the market.
Candidates should possess excellent analytical, drafting, communication, and project management skills, together with sound business judgment and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
QualificationsYour Experience
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the Texas Bar, or eligibility to waive into the Texas Bar.
- At least two years of law firm experience focused on corporate transactions.
- Significant experience advising on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic investments, corporate restructurings, or complex commercial transactions.
- Ability to independently manage transaction workstreams while effectively coordinating with colleagues across multiple practice areas and jurisdictions.
- Strong commercial awareness and an interest in the energy, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a practical, client-focused approach.
- Experience representing private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, multinational corporations, energy companies, or infrastructure investors is preferred.
- Experience working on cross-border transactions and collaborating with international teams is a plus.

Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this position is $225,000-$260,000. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
