About Our Family

About Our Family

We are a warm, active family with two young daughters and a sweet, easygoing golden retriever who is always happy to get outside. Both parents work full-time, and Saturdays are especially busy for one parent, so consistent support during the week and on weekends would make a meaningful difference in our family life.

With a baby and a preschooler whose routines no longer line up neatly, our home can become busy quickly. We already have a weekday nanny and a cleaning team every other week, but we need someone focused on the household itself: keeping the kitchen, toys, clothing, and shared spaces organized; managing groceries and meal preparation; and noticing what needs attention without waiting for a list.

We enjoy whole foods, family dinners around the table, and a home that feels calm, cared for, and well stocked. We appreciate thoughtful systems and take pride in caring properly for our belongings. We also travel briefly once or twice a month, so flexibility and the ability to help the household adjust before and after trips are important.

More than anything, we are looking for a dependable, proactive professional who will take genuine ownership of the home, work comfortably alongside our existing support, and bring steady, positive energy to our family’s day-to-day life.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are naturally organized, observant, and proactive. You notice when the playroom needs a reset, clothes have been outgrown, groceries are running low, or dinner preparation needs to begin, and you take care of it without waiting for detailed instructions. You enjoy creating practical systems for kitchens, closets, toys, and family supplies, but you are equally comfortable maintaining those systems through consistent daily follow-through.

You are confident with grocery shopping and meal preparation, appreciate whole foods, and can keep the kitchen clean, stocked, and ready for family dinners. You understand how to care for clothing and household belongings properly and take pride in leaving spaces noticeably better than you found them.

You work well alongside a weekday nanny, cleaning team, and outside vendors, communicating clearly and stepping in where support is needed without duplicating responsibilities. You are also comfortable around a baby, a preschooler, and a friendly dog who needs regular exercise.

Most importantly, you are dependable, energetic, and flexible. You can provide consistent Saturday support, help the household prepare for and recover from family travel, and adjust as priorities shift. This family needs someone who takes genuine ownership, follows through, and makes life feel calmer without requiring constant management.

Key Responsibilities

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Create and maintain household organization systems throughout the home; conduct daily resets
  • Prepare the home ahead of the bi-weekly cleaning crew's visits
  • Seasonal clothing swaps for children; holiday decor setup and takedown; bedding swaps
  • Mudroom and entryway upkeep
  • Seasonal property maintenance, including power washing screened porch and patio monthly, especially during high-pollen seasons
  • Occasional event/holiday/guest prep
  • Assistance with packing/unpacking for travel
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc. as needed
  • Light cleaning: vacuuming, wiping down counters daily, emptying trash cans around the house

Laundry & Linens

  • Full household laundry: wash, dry, fold, and organize
  • Linen and towel rotation
  • Light ironing as needed
  • Dry cleaning drop-off and pickup; careful garment sorting and care
  • Maintain tidy and well stocked laundry areas

Meal Support

  • Whole foods-focused batch prep approximately three days per week: vegetables, sides, rice, and proteins
  • Prepare kid-friendly snacks such as protein balls, muffins, and on-the-go bites (family has recipes)
  • Own general grocery shopping; specialty and butcher orders managed by the family
  • Kitchen cleanup at the end of each shift
  • Note: one family member has an avocado allergy; careful attention to meal prep ingredients is required

Family Support

  • Childcare coverage on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings (overlap with current nanny on Thursdays)
  • Source and coordinate age-appropriate activities for young children
  • Travel with family on occasion (e.g., beach trips and similar outings)
  • Potential for help with pick-ups/drop-offs, backpack prep, lunch prep, etc. as the kids grow
  • Potential for overnight stays when both parents travel

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Occasional cleaning and organizing of the family vehicle
  • Keep family vehicle stocked with child essentials: change of clothing, snacks, and other on-the-go items

Inventory & Errands

  • General grocery shopping and household supply management, including ownership of lists and subscriptions
  • Vendor coordination: serve as the household point of contact for cleaners, landscapers, and contractors

  • Breakdown of boxes

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Fridge cleanout on a regular basis (label-aware; items to be discarded after 3–4 days)
  • Refrigerator and water filter changes
  • Additional deep cleaning projects, as needed, to supplement bi-weekly cleaners
  • Larger home and organization projects, such as kids’ toys, gear, etc.

Pet Care
