Group Summary:

Job Responsibilities:
Lead process improvements (downtime, quality, etc.) and cost savings activities. Coordinate support groups and set processes and procedures to improve Hot Stamping Launch and Production while integrating new technology
- Develop and write cost analysis and proposals for integrating new and current technology
- Lead support groups to improve and assist with repair of processes
- Test ability of machines (such as Robots) to perform tasks
- Develop operating procedures and resolve systems malfunction
- Work with Maintenance and Toolroom to assist with determining part supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedule required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition
- Provide engineering support for duration of the program including design phase, reviews, tryouts, launch support and production
- Support review and implementation of standards for the design of tooling and processes for audits
- Develop alternative processing methods for the CI of quality and manufacturing standards leading to cost reduction
- Participate in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in field
- Interface with co-workers in other departments such as maintenance, quality and manufacturing to improve technical information
- Develop timing plans and action plan to keep track of manufacturing improvements
- Develop and maintain qualified sources for projects
- Capable of developing 8D's by following root cause analysis
- Housekeeping and other activities as assigned
EDUCATION:
- University, technical or trade school degree
- SKILLS:
- This individual will work closely with both production team members and with Quality, Engineering, and Materials, spending a majority of their time directly on the shop floor
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, WordPerfect and/or Microsoft Word)
- The individual must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of how their decisions affect other departments and managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
