Description
A Homemaker, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, provides empathetic companionship, sitter services, light housekeeping, and meal preparation services to terminally ill patients within the scope of experience and ability. Duties may include reading or listening to patients. Observes and listens to patients and caregivers regarding any health concerns they might have and report details or changes in condition to Registered Nurse. Nurse aide certification is NOT required. Full time or part time openings, day or night shift, eight or 12 hour shifts in nursing homes and patient homes. Full time employees are eligible for benefits.
Requirements
PROFESSIONAL: Demonstrate the ability to read and communicate, both verbally and in writing. Previous caregiving or sitter experience preferred. High school diploma or GED preferred.
PERSONAL: Personal qualities of empathy, responsibility, and dependability. Must demonstrate effective communication skills with team members, patients and family members. Must have ability to accept supervision and follow instructions. Must carry automobile liability insurance coverage and have reliable transportation.
PHYSICAL JOB: Must be able to access homes and facilities independently. Must demonstrate proper use of personal protective equipment and observe universal precautions.
