Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a Highway Project Manager for its Bloomfield, NJ or Mount Laurel, NJ offices. The team player we seek must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering and 10+ years of experience with NJDOT and/or NJTA and have a NJ PE license. The candidate will be responsible for managing interdisciplinary projects, preparation of contract documents, managing subconsultants, monitoring budgets, schedules, administering quality control program, and performing reviews of work. The candidate must have experience writing technical proposals, the ability to function as a client manager, and possess in-depth experience in the design of highways and roadways, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to interact well with client management teams, engineers in other technical disciplines, and marketing teams is essential.

Dewberry offers a comprehensive and very competitive package of insurance programs to regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents the first of the month following their date of hire. Responsibilities
  • Supervise the performance of all facets of highway engineering including design of horizontal and vertical geometry, utility relocations, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, preparation of right of way and coordination of drainage design, traffic signals and electrical/lighting systems for a variety of project types and clients.
  • Prepare contract documents including: Plans, Specifications, and Cost Estimates
  • Plan and coordinate all aspects of work
  • Prepare scope, budgets, and schedules for assignments
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals to provide professional services
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required
  • NJ Professional Engineer license required
  • 10+ years’ experience in highway design
  • Proficient with NJDOT, NJTA, AASHTO, and MUTCD design standards and procedures
  • Ability to manage and provide technical expertise in the following technical areas:
    • Highway/roadway design
    • Design of vertical and horizontal alignments
    • Construction staging and design of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes
    • Preparation of plans, specifications, and engineers estimates
  • Microstation and OpenRoads Designer required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with MS Office software
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record required

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $115,000 to $150,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.

Skills Required
