We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Highway Design Engineer to join our growing team in North Bay, Canada. In this role, you will support the design and development of highway infrastructure projects, working collaboratively with senior engineers and project teams to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant transportation solutions. You will contribute to all phases of highway design, from preliminary planning through final construction documentation, while developing your expertise in transportation engineering and design standards.
- Assist in the preparation of highway design plans, profiles, and cross-sections using industry-standard software and design principles
- Conduct geometric design analysis to ensure compliance with Canadian highway standards and safety regulations
- Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and construction documentation under the guidance of senior engineers
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including drainage, geotechnical, foundations, environmental specialists, and project managers
- Review design specifications and ensure adherence to project requirements and regulatory standards
- Participate in site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess existing conditions
- Maintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company standards
