High Voltage Subject Matter Expert

Progesys is a company recognized for its expertise in managing industrial projects and their optimal transition from construction to operation. The company is based in Laval (Canada) since 2002 and has offices in the United States, the Middle East, Asia and South America.

Progesys is currently looking for High Voltage Subject Matter Expert to work in a mining project in Mongolia.

Responsibilities:

• Field-based practical mentoring role
• Upskill Technicians, Lead Hands & Supervisors in trade and leadership skills by practical mentoring
• Give technical direction to the Superintendents as and when required

Requirements:

• Minimum 15 years professional practice post completion of graduate/ trade training
• 7 years of experience working with High Voltage Equipment, Switchgear, Protection Relay, Earthing Scheme and Switching Programs
• Experience working in a remote site is preferred.
• Exposure to heavy industry construction, industrial equipment maintenance, HV cable testing, HV Transformer Testing, HV Earthing Testing (High Potential Testing (HiPOT), Offline Partial Discharge Testing (PD) and Very Low Frequency Testing (VLF)
• Exposure to ABB/SIEMENS HV Transformers and associated protection instrument including low voltage commands and signal cables, HV/LV cabling systems, ABB/SIEMENS switchgear, including filling CBs with Sulphur Hexafluoride (SF6) gas, ABB/ SIEMENS HV VSD Drives, ABB/SIEMENS HV Motors, ABB/ SIEMENS Protection Relays and associated control interfaces.
• Exposure to Maintenance CMM’s or CMS (ORBIT) DOC Control systems (JPI),
• Exposure to AB ControlLogix, AB CITECT SCADA is an advantage
• Licenses required: Light Vehicle License, Elevated Work Platform, Electrical License
• Work Ratio: Field: 90%, Office: 10%
