Heritage Sites General Labourer x 2 Term 

Department:  Heritage 

Location: Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in Offices – Dawson, YT

Posting Date:  April 22, 2026 

Standard Hours Bi-Weekly:  75 

Start Date:  Immediately 

End Date:  August 28, 2026 

Salary:  Level 1 Step 1 ($25.66 hourly) 

 

Closing Date:  Until Filled

 

Reporting to the Heritage Sites Coordinator, this position is responsible for a variety of duties, including, but not limited to: general carpentry, general maintenance assistance on capital projects, trail maintenance and construction, general heritage sites maintenance and clean up, supplies pick-up and delivery, and transport to remote locations.   

 

An Eligibility List may be established from this competition – the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent full-time, permanent part-time, temporary full-time, temporary part-time, term, or auxiliary on-call vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:  

  • Experience with basic carpentry and construction, bush cutting and clearing related tasks.  
  • Experience in using hand and power tools. 
  • Experience driving various vehicles (trucks, ATVs, boats, trailers, tractors, etc.). 
  • Ability to lift up to 80lbs.  
  • Ability to work in strenuous positions and for extended periods of time.  
  • Ability to follow instructions and read manuals.  
  • Ability to work and live in remote locations for extended periods of time.  
  • Knowledge of WCB processes. 
  • On-the-land and off-grid experience an asset. 


Conditions of Employment: 

  • Criminal Record Check. 
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License with clear Driver’s Abstract. 
  • Standard First Aid certification or willing to obtain.  
  • Ability to lift heavy objects. 
  • TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
