Heating and A-C Specialist

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The job functions listed below represent the essential job duties and responsibilities of the above listed position.

• Manages Service Agreements, HVAC Contracts, BMS Controls, Mechanical Contracts and HVAC Vendors.
• Installs heating and A/C air ducts, insulation, motors, thermostats, and other related HVAC equipment within existing office/shop spaces and newly constructed areas.
• Monitors BAC settings throughout the office/shop spaces and adjust as needed.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning equipment relating to HVAC and take appropriate action to fix the problem.
• Performs regular preventative maintenance on equipment, and document findings.  
• Performs general maintenance repairs by assisting the General Construction Worker, and the Electrician with projects throughout the facility, on an as needed basis.   
• Assist facilities maintenance department with snow removal during winter months.
• Timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift as determined by supervisory
• personnel.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.   
• Periodic on-call and after-hours work required.

    •  This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    •  Knowledge of air conditioning and heating components functions and repairs as well as Boilers, Chillers and Niagara Building Software Framework.

    •  Skill in installation, monitoring and repairing heating and A/C equipment.

    •  Skill in operating related tools and equipment for heating and A/C equipment.

    •  Knowledge of general construction.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

•  Associates Degree or equivalent trade school certificates for HVAC repair and installation or equivalent experience.
•  Annual re-certification certificates.
•  Two to three years Heating and A/C experience preferred.
•  EPA Universal certificate or acquire certification within 90 days of hire. Werner will pay for the certification.

• Seeing and hearing: Read documents, computer screen answer phones, communicate in person. 75-100%
• Standing and walking. 25-49 %
• Climbing, stooping, squatting, and kneeling.   75-100 %
• Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, and writing.  75-100 %
• Lift more than 50 pounds. 0-24 %
