Combining a deep systems knowledge to develop unique vehicle access experiences, intelligent visions systems and advanced automotive lighting technologies, MML's expertise light the path to innovation, safety and styling.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Champion a safe and healthy workplace by supporting our health & safety program and helping maintain compliance with ISO 45001 standards.
  • Be a trusted resource for employees, by listening to their safety concerns, offering guidance, and helping them recognize and reduce workplace hazards.
  • Advocate for well-being and make sure safety issues are addressed quickly and effectively.
  • Take an active role in the JHSC and contribute to initiatives that strengthen our safety culture.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with team members across departments, from operations to leadership, to keep safety front and center in everything we do.
  • Support new program and equipment launches by reviewing workstations, performing risk assessments, and ensuring pre-start health and safety reviews are complete.
  • Help develop and lead engaging H&S training that empowers employees to work safely.
  • Keep our safety programs, policies, and procedures up to date and easy to understand.
  • Maintain our SDS system and ensure all information is accurate and current.
  • Support audits and incident investigations, helping identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are followed through.
  • Track and share key safety metrics to help the team measure progress and celebrate improvements.
  • Cultivate a positive behavioural-based safety culture, that reinforces safe behaviours and takes opportunities to positively coach.
  • Play a part in contractor safety and ensure everyone on-site meets our safety expectations.
  • Take part in layered process audits and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Jump in to support other health and safety projects and programs as needed.

Qualifications:
  • College or University Certificate/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of health and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Understanding of systems and equipment (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical).
  • Skilled Trade background is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to take initiative, lead change, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and related safety or data management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of reliability and professionalism.
