As Head of the Web Ecosystem, you will own the mid- and long-term strategy for JetBrains products for JavaScript and TypeScript developers.
This role focuses on aligning product direction, go-to-market efforts, and external partnerships with the rapidly evolving web development ecosystem. You will translate ecosystem signals – from frameworks and tooling to community practices – into clear strategic priorities for JetBrains products.
You will work closely with engineering, product management, marketing, and developer advocacy teams, and represent JetBrains in the broader web developer community.
Core responsibilities- Set the strategy and direction for JetBrains products for web developers. Start new product directions when important niches are not addressed.
- Define the work for product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and partnerships in the web ecosystem, and keep everyone working toward one plan.
- Track important changes and trends in the web community (frameworks, tooling, major releases, new workflows).
- Build and maintain relationships with key people in the web ecosystem (companies, open-source projects, community leaders).
- Work with engineering and QA leads to set priorities and plan work.
- Represent JetBrains in the web ecosystem at key events and meetings.
- Coordinate with other ecosystems when areas overlap (e.g. Databases, Go, AI).
- A deep understanding of how web developers work: JavaScript/TypeScript, major frameworks (especially React), Node.js and browser tooling, package managers, build tools, code quality tools (linting/formatting), testing, and performance tooling.
- Experience setting product direction based on market needs as a Product Manager or Head of Product.
- Experience leading work across product management, marketing, developer advocacy, and business development, directly or through cross-team leadership.
- Strong external-facing capability, including partnerships, community engagement, and executive-level communication.
- The ability to use data for decisions, combining community feedback with product usage and business results.
