SUMMARY
The Senior Web Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of the company’s web properties, focusing on ensuring high performance, user engagement, and accessibility. This role requires expertise in WordPress and proficiency in additional web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Python, and possibly frameworks like React or Vue.js. The ideal candidate will be able to build, optimize, and troubleshoot websites from the ground up, leveraging both front-end and back-end coding skills to deliver seamless user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain company websites, primarily in WordPress, while also utilizing custom coding solutions as necessary.
- Collaborate with marketing and design teams to create optimized, responsive web pages.
- Ensure websites are optimized for speed, accessibility, and search engines.
- Provide insights and recommendations on the latest web technologies and best practices.
- Perform regular maintenance and updates, including content, security patches, and feature enhancements.
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience with WordPress and a strong understanding of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency in PHP, Python, and SQL for back-end development.
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js) is a plus.
- Knowledge of web performance optimization, SEO best practices, and cross-browser compatibility issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on complex tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in web development with a portfolio showcasing diverse projects.
- Experience with Git version control, REST APIs, and web analytics tools.
