Head of Treatment Development

What you'll be doing;

The Head of Treatment Development is a senior-level role responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of new business opportunities within the Treatment arm of the business. Focusing on market expansion, customer acquisition and retention, and revenue growth through winning new Local Authority contracts, forging key partnerships, and implementing sales strategies to secure extensions to existing Local Authority Contracts and working closely with the Treatment Business Unit and other Veolia functions to undertake ongoing improvements to Veolia’s existing Treatment portfolio.

  • Take ownership of a Treatment Development Growth strategy which facilitates a strategic and targeted approach to Development and aligns with Business Unit strategy. This includes management of a short, medium and long term pipeline incorporating bidding new opportunities, assisting with the mobilisation and stabilisation of new Contracts, extensions, and existing Contract development work. The Strategy will be undertaken in conjunction with the Municipal Development Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Treatment Business Unit.

  • Oversee the work of the Treatment Development Team to ensure that growth is operationally and commercially sustainable, with risks mitigated, opportunities captured and that projects achieve their targeted measure of profitability as a minimum 

  • Ensure Business Unit collaboration in order for clients to benefit from Veolia’s full offering  

  • Represent Veolia at client meetings and industry gatherings

  • Work with other Veolia functions to drive innovation including the design, delivery and assessment of trials and formation of business cases 

  • Tracking industry trends, competitor moves, to help the team to identify new business development/growth activities

  • To perform all duties with an assurance that the environment is compliant both in terms of Risks and Assurance and any future decision making ensures a continuation of this compliance.

What we're looking for;

  • Experience of working in the Treatment Business Development Sector 

  • Proven experience of large tendering processes and consistently winning / retaining new business

  • Line management background with a history of leading by example

  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally

  • Strategic thinker who is solution focussed and creative, with the ability to implement strategy and embed into a business.

  • Skilled at building relationships and influencing at senior leadership level.

  • Ability to innovate, be strategic and demonstrate value to our Customers.
