Head of Technology and R&D - Tietoevry Industry (m/f/d)

Step into the strategic driver’s seat: as Head of Technology, you will lead a 100+ person development squad in a 300-people world leading industry focused software powerhouse, steering both our core on-premises solutions and our evolving managed Azure cloud platform. Innovation, scaling, and efficiency are your stage. At the intersection of agile engineering, continuous delivery, and visionary leadership, you help define how technology drives impact—for our global customers and our company.

Your Challenge

• Set and execute a future-facing technology vision and architecture roadmap that powers growth, transformation, and lasting competitive edge.
• Lead, coach, and inspire cross-functional architects and engineering leads and their teams; nurture a high-performance and inclusive tech culture.
• Elevate our DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and security practices for best-in-class delivery and resilient operations—on-premises and cloud (customer as well as fully managed by us).
• Drive research into emerging trends (cloud, AI, automation, security), evaluate their business relevance, and champion bold adoption.
• Act as a bridge-builder: align technology with business needs, represent technology in the our leadership-team and with key customers and partners.
• Oversee vendor partnerships (especially Microsoft), mentor teams, and ensure our platform is always scalable, secure, and state-of-the-art.
• Build a solid technical strategy to transition our legacy customer base to our new product suite
• Take business responsibility: manage budgets, direct investments, and drive innovation management.

What You Bring

• Proven leadership experience as CTO, Head of Tech, or Director Engineering in companies (ideally SaaS or hybrid B2B) with large teams and complex, container-based landscapes.
• Profonde expertise in the development of business-critical industry software with a 24/7 availability
• Deep expertise in software architecture, containerization, DevOps, hybrid cloud (Azure), security, and automation.
• Vision: You anticipate tech trends, understand strategic impacts, and embrace experimentation—leading by example.
• Exceptional communication and networking skills—you engage, motivate, and inspire both tech and business stakeholders.
• High analytical skills, decisiveness, and sound approach to risk and innovation management.
• True passion for technology, learning, and driving both people and solutions to the next level.
• Excellent English (and ideally German) skills.
