Job Description
About the Opportunity
Our Effective Philanthropy team has a new and exciting requirement for a Head of Sustainability to drive ESG and DEI across the organisation, aligning sustainability goals with overall business objectives.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Effective Philanthropy, you will be directly responsible for a team of two. Day to day you will be responsible for:
- Developing and leading the foundation’s sustainability strategy, ensuring alignment with our mission, focus areas, and values.
- Embedding sustainability principles across operations, grant-making and partnerships.
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainable business practices.
- Establishing and reporting on sustainability goals, metrics, and progress — driving transparency and accountability.
- Designing and leading DEI programs fostering an inclusive workplace culture and promoting equity across all levels.
- Collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and community organisations to advance sustainability and DEI efforts.
- Leading cross functional teams to integrate sustainability and DEI initiatives into business operations, products and services.
Qualifications
About You
The successful candidate will hold a formal qualification in Sustainability, Social Impact, Business Administration or Public Policy, preferably a Masters. A minimum of 8 years post graduate experience in sustainability, DEI leadership, corporate social responsibility or ESG strategy is also required. In addition, you will hold:
- Strong knowledge of sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP) and DEI metrics
- Proven track record of leading and executing impactful sustainability and DEI initiatives.
- Experience with data analysis, impact measurement, and reporting on sustainability and DEI outcomes.
- Experience in strategy development, project management and program development.
In terms of soft skills, you will have exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence and drive change across complex organisations.
