About Kooner Fleet Management Solutions

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is one of the fastest-growing national providers of on-site fleet maintenance, preventative service, and mobile repair solutions. With nearly a decade of industry experience, Kooner FMS helps fleets reduce downtime, extend vehicle life, and simplify operations through proactive maintenance programs and advanced technology.

As a family-founded and field-first company, we take pride in delivering trusted partnerships, exceptional service, and innovative fleet management solutions that keep America’s trucks and trailers road-ready.

As a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) entering a significant growth phase, we are looking for a strategic leader to help shape our next chapter.

About the Head of Strategy & Partnerships Role

The Head of Strategy & Partnerships is a newly created executive role and the CEO’s primary strategic partner. You will own company strategy, lead our international growth, own our most important customer and channel partnerships, and serve as the connective tissue that turns analysis into coordinated action across finance, operations, sales, and marketing.

This is a strategy and partnership leadership role rather than a day-to-day operational or quota-carrying sales role. You will set direction, build the frameworks and data visibility the business runs on, and drive cross-functional execution – working through and alongside our CFO, COO, and VP of Sales rather than duplicating their functions.

Where You’ll Make an Impact

  • Company strategy: Develop and own the company’s 3–5 year strategic plan in partnership with the CEO, and establish a disciplined planning and review cadence across the leadership team.
  • International growth: Lead Kooner’s international expansion end to end – building the market entry plan, standing up the operating structure, and securing anchor customers. This is the role’s signature mandate and where you will be most hands-on.
  • Key account growth: Deepen and grow Kooner’s largest national account relationships, expanding share of wallet and strengthening executive-level partnership governance.
  • Diversification strategy: Reduce revenue concentration by defining target verticals, building the go-to-market strategy, and developing a qualified pipeline that the sales team converts. You set the aim and the playbook; sales executes.
  • Strategic operating system: Partner with the CFO and COO to build the KPI, reporting, and margin-visibility backbone the company needs to scale cleanly and protect profitability.
  • Profitability & margin defense: Turn job-level cost and margin data into pricing discipline, billing accuracy, and a defensible position with major customers, and help identify where margin is recovered as cost pressures rise.
  • Cross-functional strategy: Serve as the link across finance, operations, sales, and marketing – translating data and operational insight into a single coordinated plan, ensuring go-to-market and marketing efforts are aligned to the growth strategy, and driving alignment on the company’s top strategic priorities.
  • New business & partnerships: Identify and evaluate new markets, service lines, partnerships, channel relationships, and potential acquisitions; build the business case and present to ownership.

What Success Looks Like in Your First 12 Months

  • A 3–5 year strategic plan delivered and an operating cadence running across the leadership team.
  • International expansion foundation in place — market entry plan, operating structure, and a credible, advanced path with an anchor customer.
  • Measurable growth in our largest national account and a documented plan to sustain it.
  • A defined diversification strategy adopted by the sales team and a qualified non-core pipeline built.
  • A KPI and margin-visibility reporting system live and in active use by the executive team.
  • Job-level cost and margin visibility established and applied to protect profitability on key accounts.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in strategy, corporate development, partnerships, product/program leadership, or senior operational roles.
  • Background in fleet services, transportation, logistics, connected vehicles, or field services strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of driving growth – through new markets, partnerships, key-account expansion, or M&A.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen; comfortable building cost, margin, and KPI models and translating data into decisions.
  • Proven ability to influence without direct authority and drive alignment across finance, operations, sales, and marketing.
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership or ownership to shape and execute strategy.
  • Comfort operating at both the strategic (3–5 year) and tactical (quarterly execution) level.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree valued but not required – equivalent experience is weighted equally.

Why You’ll Love Joining Our Team
