We address AI’s toughest challenges through technical research, field-building initiatives, and policy engagement, along with our sister organization in DC, Center for AI Safety Action Fund.

Public awareness remains the single biggest bottleneck in AI safety. Fortunately, the public's interest in AI safety is growing extremely quickly. Videos, articles, and social posts about AI safety are now reaching millions, and public curiosity is compounding by the week. CAIS is building a public engagement team to harness this surge in public interest and maximize the amount of attention that AI safety receives.

We're hiring a Head of Social to own daily posting strategy and news-cycle engagement across high-leverage platforms. You combine speed, sharp packaging, and deep community awareness to shape public discourse. You will report to the Head of Public Engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Lead strategy for X, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms
  • Write and package daily posts and threads
  • Amplify executives and researchers
  • Engage in real-time during major news cycles
  • Track platform analytics and optimize for reach and resonance

What We're Looking For

  • 5–8 years running social for high-profile orgs or leaders
  • Platform-native writing skill
  • Strong news judgment and rapid iteration ability
  • Data-informed optimization mindset
