The Role
Own paid acquisition end-to-end for Letaido: strategy, audience, creative, measurement, and budget. Build and test audience hypotheses, run systematic creative tests, prove incrementality and CAC/payback, integrate cross-functional inputs into ads, and use Letaido for reporting. Be hands-on in ad platforms initially and scale the program while feeding learnings back to product and marketing.

About Letaido

Letaido is an AI teammate for marketing teams. Not a chatbot that answers questions, an agent with its own workspace, that does the work: pulls the data, builds the tool, writes the report, ships the page, and keeps it running on a schedule.

Ask it for a content gap analysis and it queries Ahrefs directly. Ask it to track competitor ads and it builds you an app for that and keeps it updated. It connects to the systems marketers already live in HubSpot, Slack, Notion, Google Ads, Search Console, Stripe and around fifty others, and it can stand up a public site or an internal dashboard without a developer.

It’s built inside Ahrefs, which gives it something almost no AI product has: fifteen years of web crawling infrastructure, petabytes of first-party index data, and no investors setting the timeline.

We are Ahrefs, a bootstrapped company that builds SEO and marketing tools used by hundreds of thousands of professionals worldwide. We’ve been profitable and independent for fifteen years, which means we answer to our users rather than to investors.

The role

You’ll own paid acquisition for Letaido from the first dollar, the strategy, the money, the creative and the measurement.

We’re not looking for a media buyer. Anyone can run a campaign; the hard part is knowing which audience is worth reaching, what to say to them, and whether the spend actually caused anything. That means living in the data, forming a real point of view about who our buyers are and where their attention is, and turning that into creative that earns the click.

The other half of the job is other people. The best-performing ad we run will probably come from something the content team already made, a demo the product marketer filmed, a partner’s audience, or a question support keeps getting asked. You’ll be the person who spots that, pulls it into the ad account, and gives the credit back.

It’s hands-on and foundational at the same time. There’s no account to inherit and no agency to brief — you’ll be in the platforms daily to start with, and what you prove out becomes how we do paid from then on.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Letaido, so the distance between your idea and a decision is one conversation.

This role is based out of one of our US offices — Palo Alto or Cambridge (MA). You can be based in whichever of these you have the legal right to work in, but this is an on-site role: we’re looking for someone who’ll be in the office with the team.

What you’ll do
  • Own paid acquisition end to end — channel strategy, budget allocation, targeting, creative direction and measurement.
  • Build a real audience thesis. Who’s worth paying to reach, what they already believe, and what would change their mind. Then test whether you’re right.
  • Run creative as a system, not a series of one-offs. Maintain a library of hooks and angles, brief against evidence rather than instinct, and keep a testing cadence that produces answers instead of opinions.
  • Own the measurement honestly. CAC, payback, incrementality — and the judgement to tell a channel that’s genuinely working from one that’s taking credit for demand we already had.
  • Pull the rest of the company into the ad account. Content, product marketing, partnerships, support and the product team all hold raw material that makes ads better. Your job is to find it and use it.
  • Feed learnings back out. What converts in paid is evidence about positioning, and the rest of marketing should hear it.
  • Decide when not to spend. We’re bootstrapped, so the money is real and stopping something is as valuable as scaling it.
  • Use Letaido to build your own reporting and analysis, and tell the team where it falls short.
You’ll thrive here if
  • You’ve built a paid programme from scratch rather than optimising one you inherited, and you can show what it cost and what it returned.
  • You’re genuinely analytical. You can pull the data yourself, spot the thing that doesn’t add up, and explain what it means without a dashboard doing the talking.
  • You have strong creative instincts and can brief them. You know why an ad worked, not just that it did.
  • You’ve killed a channel that looked good on a dashboard, and can explain how you knew.
  • You work well across teams. The best inputs to paid come from people who don’t report to you, and you’d rather borrow a good idea than protect a budget.
  • You’re comfortable being hands-on in the platforms for a while, and comfortable that the money is finite.
  • You want to be in a room with the team. This is a small group doing early-stage work, and that goes better in person.
Bonus
  • Experience marketing developer tools, marketing tools, or anything sold to practitioners.
  • You’ve worked with AI agents or LLM tooling seriously enough to have opinions about where they’re genuinely useful.
  • You’ve run paid for a self-serve product as well as a sales-assisted one.
  • You can build your own reporting rather than wait for someone else’s.
  • You’ve worked with creators, communities or newsletters as paid channels, not just the big platforms.
What we offer
  • A channel to build from scratch, and the authority to run it your way
  • Direct line to the Head of Letaido — small team, few layers, quick decisions
  • The data and tooling of a fifteen-year-old SEO company behind an early-stage product
  • Colleagues worth borrowing from — content, video, product marketing and partnerships all in the same building
  • Daily use of the thing you’re marketing, and a direct line to the people building it
  • Annual company retreat (usually skiing)
  • Conference and learning budget
  • A properly equipped office, and lunch on us

What We Do

Ahrefs Pte. Ltd. is a software company that develops online SEO tools and free educational materials for marketing professionals. Ahrefs is an all-in-one SEO toolset for growing search traffic and optimizing websites. To do that, Ahrefs crawls the web, stores tons of data and makes it accessible via a simple user interface. When Ahrefs launched its first tool, Site Explorer, it disrupted the stagnant field of backlink analysis and kickstarted a new round of competition among SEO tool providers. It quickly became one of the world’s best backlink analysis tools. Since then, Ahrefs has grown into a complete SEO suite by developing tools like Keywords Explorer for keyword research, Content Explorer for analyzing content, Rank Tracker for monitoring keyword rankings, and Site Audit for auditing and optimizing websites.
