About Sygaldry

Sygaldry Technologies is building quantum-accelerated AI servers to exponentially speed up training and inference for AI. By integrating quantum and AI, we're accelerating the path to superintelligence, and engineering the conditions for it to scale efficiently and operate affordably. Sygaldry AI servers combine multiple qubit types within a single, fault-tolerant architecture to deliver the combination of cost, scale, and speed necessary for advanced AI applications. We pioneer new domains in physics, engineering, and AI, tackling the hardest challenges with a grounded, optimistic, and rigorous culture. We're looking for individuals ready to define the intersection of quantum and AI and drive its profound global impact.

What You’ll Work On

This role is focused on the modeling and simulation of high-performing AI hardware, and does not require prior knowledge of quantum computers. This role is empowered to lead the definition and implementation of the simulation, modeling and emulation roadmap for the company. It will interface with a variety of internal teams and external partners with whom we are planning to collaborate. We will share more detail about this role during in-person discussions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the effort to design, select and implement Sygaldry's distributed simulation environment

  • Define the simulation, modeling and emulation roadmap for the company

  • Set everything up the simulation infrastructure from scratch

  • Interface with a variety of internal teams and external collaboration partners

  • Work with internal teams that have developed estimation tools to coach them and help them integrate these tools into the simulation & modeling framework

You May Be a Fit if You Have:

  • Lead the effort to design, select and implement the modeling and simulation environment of a distributed AI acceleration architecture

  • Modeled complex training, inference and reasoning workflows implemented in a heterogeneous AI cluster of GPUs, CPUs and novel accelerators

  • Exposure to the simulation environments used by the GPU/XPU supplier, hyperscalers and/or frontier labs for simulation AI workloads on various system and hardware architectures

  • Familiarity with architecture modeling and distributed simulation platforms, such as Gem5, ASTRA-sim and such

  • Experience with C or SystemC behavioral models and timing-aware behavioral models

  • Experience with Verilog/VHDL RTL simulation platforms like VCS

How We’re Different

We’re building the infrastructure for quantum superintelligence and pioneering new domains at the intersection of physics, engineering, and AI. At Sygaldry, curiosity and intellectual courage drive our work. We approach ambitious challenges with a grounded, optimistic, and rigorous culture and know that kind people build the strongest teams. We prioritize mission over ego and collaborate openly with a strong sense of shared purpose. We dream big, yet we execute with a love of detail.

Culture & Benefits

  • The Best of Both Worlds: Access to the industrial-scale compute and hardware resources while retaining the intellectual freedom of an academic environment.

  • Visa Sponsorship: We know what it takes to make top talent thrive here. We're open to supporting visas whenever possible.

  • Compensation: We value your high-level expertise. This position offers a salary significantly above standard academic postdoctoral rates.

  • Benefits: Your well-being matters. We provide company-sponsored health coverage to give you and your family peace of mind.

  • Connection: Whether it’s company offsite or casual crew socials, we make time to connect, recharge, and have fun together.

  • Time Off: We trust you to take the time you need. Unlimited PTO so you can rest, recharge, and come back ready to make an impact.

This position can work out of our San Francisco or Ann Arbor offices. Competitive compensation package is based on experience and location. Expected base salary range:

San Francisco, CA: $220K-$325K

Ann Arbor, MI: $180K-$290K
