Job description

Location: Flatiron, New York (Full-time, in-office)

Company Description

Pearl Social is a curated community for ambitious intellectuals. Members connect professionally, socially, or romantically with like-minded individuals through an agentic powered app. Leveraging Pearl AI, we create personalised connection opportunities by mapping user profiles to foster valuable bonds. Membership also gives access to our weekly in-person events held in NYC. We aim to provide a space for driven individuals to enrich their personal and professional lives with remarkable connections globally.

Head of Events Role Description

The Mission

As Head of Events, you will be the custodian of the Pearl Social brand. You will lead the charge of all our in-person experiences and curate events like no other.

The Role

  • Experiential Design: Lead the creative concepting for all Pearl events. You will design and curate artisanal experience to find unconventional and creative twists like no other on the market.
  • Event Organisation: Own the end-to-end execution of our flagship events, including our Salons, Dinners and Spiritual Experiences.
  • Curation of Atmosphere: Manage the aesthetic and "Sensory Stack"— soundscapes, lighting, scent, and culinary direction. You ensure that the physical environment is seamless and the vibes are immaculate.
  • VIP Logistics & Guest Experience: Oversee the "white-glove" journey for guests, from the initial bespoke invitation to the post-event follow-up. You are responsible for the "flow" of the room and the energy of the evening.
  • Strategic Production & Logistics: Manage budgets, vendor relationships (catering, AV, floral), and on-site staff.
  • Global Playbook: Create the operational "Pearl Event Blueprint" that is scalable across metropolitans with consistency.
  • Venue Sourcing: Maintaining a "black book" of the world’s most exclusive and interesting spaces, vendors and experiences.
  • Run-of-Show Development: Crafting the narrative arc of events to ensure peak engagement and "serendipity."
  • Collaborative Execution: Working closely with the Head of Membership on guest lists and the Head of Marketing on brand alignment and content capture.
  • Relationship Builder: You align with our community's culture and are a people person at heart with strong networking skills.
  • Leadership & Team Scaling: You will lead the charge in recruiting and developing our membership team, transforming top-tier talent into a unified force capable of scaling Pearl’s global presence.

Who You Are

  • The Aesthetic Perfectionist: You have a "strong eye" and a background in high-end experiential production, luxury hospitality, or editorial-level event design (e.g., Met Gala-adjacent, high-end fashion shows, or exclusive founder retreats).
  • Operational Ninja: You are obsessively organized. You see the "unseen" details before they become problems.
  • Culturally Literate: You are plugged into the NYC and global scene. You have a great cultural understanding and network that you can leverage into exceptional community experiences.
  • Tech-Forward: You understand how to use tools to streamline guest lists and check-ins without making the experience feel "transactional."

Who You Are

  • The "Polymath" Producer: You have 5+ years of experience, ideally having produced high-stakes experiences for high-end luxury brands, private members' clubs, or elite technology firms. You are as comfortable managing a complex production budget as you are directing the floral design and lighting for a 50-person salon.
  • Culturally Plugged-In: You understand the "Globalist" perspective. You're on top of the latest event trends across tech startups and global brands.
  • Growth Mindset: You aren't afraid of taking on a challenge and learning new skills.
  • Relationship Builder: You align with our community's culture and are a people person at heart with strong networking skills.

Skills We’re Looking For

  • Extremely strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly detail-oriented and reliable
  • Strong problem-solving ability
  • Ambitious, proactive and self-directed

Bonus
- you're an intellectual/ polymath
- you are or have been a part of members' clubs and have strong opinions on how member experiences can be enhanced

Why Join Pearl?

  • Founding Influence: As an early hire, you will have equity stake and a seat at the table for all strategic decisions.
  • The Network: You will be interacting daily with the world’s most ambitious founders, investors, and thinkers.
  • Building the Future: We are catalysing a powerful network through digital and in real life experiences, you'll be a leader within this community.
