Labhouse is a Barcelona-based startup studio building AI-powered mobile apps used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide. We're looking for a Head of Engineering to help us tackle the next stage of growth. A hands-on engineering leader with strong technical depth, the ability to move across technologies, and experience taking products from 0→1 and scaling them from 1→100.

You'll work directly with the CTO and own the most complex technical challenges in the company. You can go from architecture discussions in the morning to shipping code in the afternoon and build scalable and reliable systems, and raise the bar across the engineering team.

• Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Proven experience building and launching entirely new products

• Creating engineering systems that allow us to move faster and scale without increasing complexity.

• Hands-on experience improving app performance and reliability across millions of users.

• Capable of solving the most complex technical challenges in our systems.

• Experience migrating critical infrastructure and redesigning core platform services.

• Experience with a range of different technologies. Today, that includes technologies such as Flutter, Dart, TypeScript, GCP, SQL, but we don't hire based on specific frameworks. We hire people who can learn quickly and figure things out.

• Eye for detail and a product-first mindset, with a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.

• Self-driven, entrepreneurial attitude with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects.

• You enjoy operating in ambiguity. You care about impact more than process. You're comfortable owning outcomes, not just tasks.

• Good level of spoken and written English.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including design, product, and marketing.

• Remote work from anywhere in Spain. If you are based in Barcelona, we would love for you to join us at the office (Barcelona Tech City) at least two days a week.
