The Role

We are Onfy - a German pharmacy marketplace founded in 2021. We are on a mission to constantly find new and innovative ways to support your health online. We empower our customers to take their health into their own hands by providing an easy, convenient and affordable experience.

Our Onfy website launched in November 2021, and since then it has developed into an online platform that offers consumers the unique ability to order and to receive health products from several pharmacies at once with low prices and fast delivery.

We are an agile, rapidly growing team of forward thinkers, and we believe in people who want to change the world of health for the better using the latest technology available.

We are currently looking for a Head of Development for the international part of our Onfy business. You will be responsible for leading and growing the IT department (backend, frontend, QA), driving the strategy and delivery of IT services, and managing the company's technology infrastructure to meet business needs. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of IT systems and processes.

Technological stack

  • Backend: Kotlin, Spring, PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, Redis, Spark, Scala
  • Frontend: React, TypeScript, Next.js
  • iOS: Swift
  • Android: Kotlin

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the overall IT strategy in alignment with business objectives
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing IT team, including recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of new and existing team members
  • Drive and influence key product and technology decisions in close collaboration with stakeholders
  • Establish and optimize scalable development processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and agility
  • Design and oversee system architecture to support long-term product growth and innovation

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in IT
  • Strong technical expertise and deep understanding of IT systems (highload projects) and processes
  • Experience in people management, leading and coaching engineering teams of up to 15 people
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • Confident knowledge of any of the programming languages: Go/Java/Kotlin/C ++/Python/Scala
  • Experience in developing and delivering complex projects
  • Experience in development for Linux / Unix
