Purpose & Scope of the Role
The Head - Design & Impact will be a cross-cutting role that will lead in the
design, measurement and learning aspects of WWF India’s work across programmes. The Head, PD&I will guide the work of the
Monitoring & Evaluation leads and ensure robust project and programme
design including M&E. The Head, D & I will be expected to help develop
adaptive management strategies to enhance our M&E systems and processes and
to effectively document outcomes that will help the organization to learn and
evidence our impact.
The
position will also work closely with the Senior Coordinator - Programme Fundraising
to support the development and delivery of high-quality funding proposals and
pitches, with a primary focus on corporates, HNIs and strategic donors. The
role will also engage with fundraising leads and programme teams across
thematic areas to support the strengthening of organisational fundraising
readiness and proposal quality.
Key Responsibilities
Design, Monitoring, Evaluation &
Impact
· Lead the design process for major programmes and projects to deliver the
impact outcomes of the WWF-India strategy and to contribute to the WWF Network
strategy (Roadmap 2030)
· In coordination with the programme & M&E teams, develop a
process to improve baselines and outcome/impact level monitoring
· Support
programme leads and the Programme Director in measuring the impact of the
WWF-India strategy, including documentation needed for effective strategy
management and internal communication, and reporting to senior management and
trustees
· Directly engage with different teams to offer support to the design and
implementation of strategies, programmes, projects, campaigns, and fundraising
so that they demonstrate delivery of impact
· Train and mentor colleagues to enable the integration of learning and
excellence into project design, management and implementation
· Liaise with WWF Network colleagues in similar roles to support work on
driving quality improvements in the application of M&E at project, strategy
and organisational levels
Requirements
EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE
- Experience
of leading, and advanced knowledge in, the design, implementation,
monitoring, evaluation and learning of strategies, programmes and projects
so that they can achieve and demonstrate impact.
- Demonstrated
skills in, and experience of, facilitating training and guidance of peers
to support teams working on conservation or environmental policy and
practice, including through remote or virtual support.
- Experience in
direct implementation of different monitoring and evaluation approaches at
a programme and organizational level.
- Understanding of
organizational systems and culture, and how these can enable or hinder
effective programme management and learning.
- Demonstrated
experience of project/programme design in support of fundraising bids and
of project/programme management in compliance with institutional donor
expectations.
- Understanding of
relevant global monitoring frameworks and evolving approaches to M&E
