The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Head of Customer Solutions to establish and lead a high-performing sales function aligned to Squadron Energy’s growth strategy.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, Customer and Energy Markets, this senior leadership role is responsible for developing and executing the Sales Strategy, building an optimal and risk-adjusted Sales Portfolio, and owning Squadron Energy’s end-to-end customer interface.

You will work closely with the Head of Portfolio Strategy and Analytics and other senior leaders to shape customer strategy, product offerings and commercial outcomes across PPAs, C&I and merchant sales.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the development and execution of the Sales Strategy to deliver the optimal Sales Portfolio aligned with asset growth and market dynamics
  • Establish and manage customer segmentation, acquisition and engagement strategies
  • Negotiate and manage large-scale energy contracts, including Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
  • Partner with customers to structure offtake arrangements that meet both customer needs and Squadron Energy’s risk appetite
  • Provide sales performance, forecasting and revenue input into budgeting, quarterly reviews and strategic planning
  • Define and oversee product and service strategies that support long-term customer and portfolio outcomes
  • Lead the sales contribution to strategic and governance reviews, including Board-level reporting
  • Oversee contract handover into Retail Operations to ensure seamless ongoing delivery
  • Build, lead and develop a team of sales professionals, fostering capability, performance and engagement
  • Contribute as a senior leader within a collaborative, matrix-based environment while championing safety, wellbeing and company values

About You

You are a strategic sales leader with deep energy market expertise and a strong track record in complex commercial negotiations. You bring a balance of commercial acumen, leadership capability and customer focus.

You will also have:

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in energy retail, including high-value and complex transactions
  • Strong understanding of energy markets, economics and portfolio risk management
  • Demonstrated experience managing energy portfolios (electricity, gas, LNG)
  • Proven success negotiating large energy contracts and PPAs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging at executive and Board level
  • A strategic, solution-focused mindset and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong people leadership skills, including developing teams and managing performance

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Finance (required)
  • MBA or Masters in Finance (highly desirable)
