About the department
At Novo Nordisk Japan (NNPL) we are experiencing a rapid growth in sales over the recent years and gearing towards wide range of new product launches, as well as re-enforcing our production capability world-wide.
Strategy office & Commercial Excellence is in-charge of d eveloping the mid-term strategy of the organization, commercial excellence as well as being the strategic partner to the Executive Management Team.
The position
As the head of commercial excellence, you will have a great opportunity to work closely with our commercial leaders and our executive management team. You will be in-charge of optimizing our sales effectiveness and partner with our marketing team to optimize our commercial strategy. It will be important for you to drive the future frontline customer excellence ambition as well as providing the right level of insights and recommendations to our leadership team. You will also have the opportunity to represent Region Japan in global setting around commercial excellence projects and your ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders, communicate effectively, will be crucial.
The key objectives of the role will be to:
- Define commercial excellence activities to support our future frontline customer excellence ambition.
- Promote the use of data to make business decisions.
- Assess, design process for segmentation, targeting, field frontline structure, productivity, and incentives to ensure strong execution and optimal brand resource allocation based on the strategy of the commercial divisions.
- Drive insights generation for the Regional SVP and serve the cardiometabolic sales and marketing heads to optimize our commercial performance.
- Work with the Executive Management Team to identify gaps and cross functional alignment among different field functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of commercial experience in the related industry (pharmaceutical/healthcare, consumer goods or other regulated industries) is required with successful track record of: Marketing, sales, consultancy, or customer excellence experience.
- Must also have Insights generation and business analysis experience, with strong business acumen including the ability to evaluate return on investment.
- People management experience either directly or indirectly is preferable.
- Experience in both local and international sales and marketing a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of Sales Force and Commercial Excellence processes.
