Mission

We’re looking for a Head of Business Operations to drive accountability across Kiln and turn business-critical strategy into action. Partnering with the leadership team, you’ll build and run the company’s operating system while owning outcomes: establish clear decision rights, enable cross-functional execution, and use data to guide priorities and measure impact. You’ll lead high-leverage initiatives to align teams and accelerate delivery — a hands-on operator and force multiplier to the COO and the organisation, leading with clarity, speed, and rigour.

Responsibilities
  • Accountability & Decision frameworks: Define and drive decision-making systems (e.g., RAPIDs) across Kiln. Make ownership explicit, set SLAs, and ensure disciplined follow-through. Escalate only when protocols fail.

  • Issue Triage & Delivery Acceleration: Run a rapid-response BizOps function that unblocks teams, stabilises delivery, and restores healthy execution. Maintain a live heat map of operational risks and drive weekly removal of the top priorities.

  • Cross-Functional Programs & Strategic Initiatives: Lead high-leverage, cross-team initiatives end-to-end — from scoping and critical path design to resourcing, delivery, and post-mortem learning.

  • Platform & Infrastructure Operations: Partner with technical teams to align investments with the roadmap, optimise resource allocation, and measure portfolio effectiveness (availability, latency, cost, security). Translate regulated and technical domains (custody, payments, KYC/AML) into clear business outcomes.

  • Execution Excellence & Management Uplift: Raise the standard of operational management — refining charters, meeting cadences, communication norms, and feedback loops. Coach managers and strengthen organisational rigour while preserving domain ownership.

  • Data & Performance Management: Own the company KPI tree and executive scorecard. Enable self-serve analytics and drive performance reviews that turn insights into decisions and actions.

  • Strategic Communication & Operating Rhythm: Craft concise narratives for leadership and stakeholders (strategy memos, board updates, diligence materials). Institutionalise a lightweight operating cadence (OKRs, WBR/MBR/QBR, annual planning) to reinforce clarity and accountability.

Requirements
  • 5–8+ years of experience in Business Operations, Strategy & Ops, or Program Delivery at high-growth tech companies; a blend of top-tier consulting and in-house scale-up experience is preferred.

  • Proven track record of driving accountability and resolving cross-functional issues before they escalate; confident operating as an executive proxy and force multiplier when required.

  • Experience in fintech, crypto, or other regulated B2B environments, ideally with exposure to custody, payments, or KYC/AML domains.

  • Analytical and systems-driven operator — fluent in BI tools (SQL, Looker, Metabase, etc.) and familiar with Salesforce, HubSpot, CPQ/billing platforms, Jira/Asana/Linear, and Notion/Confluence.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communicator, skilled at producing decision documents, playbooks, and executive-level narratives that drive clarity and alignment.

  • Based in EU time zones with fluent written and spoken English; French proficiency is a plus.

Nice‑to‑Have
  • Experience in staking, validator, or custody domains, with an understanding of how operational and technical layers intersect.

  • Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 control frameworks, including mapping, audit readiness, and evidence automation.

  • Exposure to pricing, packaging, and revenue architecture, including CPQ and billing system design.

  • Experience hiring, developing, and leading a small BizOps or PMO team, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
