Company Introduction
Sunday: Better Yard Care Made Easy. We're a venture-funded, Boulder-based startup reinventing the lawn and garden space through an e-commerce and technology lens. Our approachable, data-driven service and products help Americans in every state turn their yards into verdant, sustainable ecosystems, without all the toxic stuff.Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and proven marketer to be our in-house expert on growing our subscriber base — across web and app. You will plan and execute on paid media channels to drive user acquisition while maintaining the right balance between CAC and LTV. You will work closely with the CRM team and creative agencies to ensure a 360 approach to the customer. You must have a keen eye for Brand to ensure our marketing efforts continually drive brand perception. You must be data-driven, results-oriented, and comfortable diagnosing performance problems fast when the numbers move against you.
As a team manager, you will guide your direct reports to not just grow the business but also grow their professional careers.
This is an opportunity to come into a fast-paced startup, directly impact the company's trajectory, and be a key contributor to a team that's changing an industry for the better.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Execution
- Drive strategy, execution, and reporting for bringing new subscribers to the business across web and mobile app
- Allocate a multi-million dollar budget across digital and traditional media platforms to exceed our CAC and subscriber target goals
- Partner with FP&A to drive annual budgeting as well as reforecasting monthly and quarterly projections
- Maintain a robust testing schedule to ensure we are constantly optimizing our core channels
- Drive targeted customer acquisition by leveraging first and third-party data sets
- Initiate a lead generation program for lead capture while measuring the value of these leads
- Own app install and re-engagement campaigns across Apple Search Ads, Google App Campaigns, Meta App Ads, and TikTok, alongside web acquisition
- Manage app store optimization (ASO): keyword strategy, creative/screenshot testing, conversion rate on the store listing
- Optimize the full app funnel from install through onboarding to first subscription, partnering with Product on friction points that affect paid media efficiency
Measurement & Problem Solving
- Improve measurement across channels to drive better attribution across both performance and brand KPIs, including experience with MMM (media mix modeling) and incrementality/holdout testing as a complement to platform-reported metrics
- Develop and maintain performance dashboards (daily, weekly, and monthly cadences) to closely monitor performance and catch issues early
- When we're off pace against budget or subscriber targets, lead root-cause diagnosis across channels, creative, landing pages, and downstream funnel — distinguishing genuine demand softness from platform delivery shifts, tracking/measurement gaps, or creative fatigue — and translate findings into a corrective plan with clear timelines
- Build contingency and reallocation plans for underperforming channels so budget can be redeployed quickly without waiting
- Work closely with Analytics and Research partners, both internal and external, to drive segmentation and customer insights
Emerging Channels & Tools
- Stay ahead of how people discover and evaluate subscription products in 2026, including the growing role of AI-driven search and recommendation surfaces as a top-of-funnel channel alongside traditional paid search and social
- Evaluate and pilot AI-assisted creative production and testing tools to increase the volume and velocity of creative iteration against a fixed budget
- Track retail media, connected TV/streaming, and social commerce (e.g. TikTok Shop) as they mature, and recommend when Sunday should test in
Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate extensively with the CRM team to ensure we are focused on increasing net subscriber growth and AOV
- Establish a working cadence with external creative agencies to ensure the team has a pipeline of creative assets
- Lead a team of growth marketers to ensure intra- and cross-team collaboration as well as career development
- Drive funnel optimization through iterative testing
- 10+ years of relevant experience in user acquisition/growth marketing
- Exceptional understanding of paid media channels including Meta, Google, Programmatic, TikTok, Pinterest, and various top-of-funnel channels
- Direct experience with app marketing: ASO, mobile measurement partners (MMPs), SKAN/privacy-driven attribution, and app funnel optimization
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting underperformance against budget — able to walk through a real example of diagnosing a miss and what you changed as a result
- Experience with customer segmentation and cohorting a must
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Retail/e-commerce & app marketing experience at a consumer-facing brand strongly preferred
- Bonus: experience with a subscription D2C business
- Bonus: experience with MMM, incrementality testing, or emerging AI-driven acquisition channels
- Deeply analytical and a proven track record of working with data to drive email campaign ideation and business results
Prior knowledge or experience in lawns and gardens not required. We're excited and proud of our new approach to this industry, and thus are looking for talent from a wide range of backgrounds to bring fresh, new perspectives!
Other Skills and Qualifications- Key characteristics: detail-oriented, assiduous, KPI driven, positive, collaborative, flexible, transparent, passion for learning, and empathetic
- Ability to prioritize and drive many projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency
- Roll up your sleeves, positive, can-do spirit! You look forward to being part of a small, scrappy team and are willing to pitch in with whatever needs to get done
- Strategic thinker with intellectual curiosity
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and making a call when the data is incomplete
- Be a core member of a small, focused, innovative team
- Help make critical decisions that will drive success
- Unlimited PTO
- Location: Remote + Boulder, CO
