Outline of the Job:

HD MicroSystems has an opening for a proactive Accountant skilled in managing multiple financial priorities located in Tokyo. This role is responsible for performing cost accounting, business analysis, and monthly closing as well as other financial activities to generate timely, reliable, and accurate financial information for HD MicroSystems. 

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform standard costing using SAP HANA for Hitachi plant products.

• Analyze COGS and report the analysis to Business.

• Act as a consultant for Business to improve business process.

• Preparation of monthly sales report.

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing cycles including journal entries, account reconciliations.

• Analyze and prepare monthly account reconciliations, including appropriate support of balances.

• Maintain fixed assets records, including proper classification to ensure accurate depreciation expense.

• Monitor open projects along with construction account to ensure timely capitalization

• Support internal and external audit engagements.

• Assist Tax Filing activities.

• Improve Finance processes on financial accounting and internal control matters.

• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

General Requirements/Experience: 

• A minimum of 5 years of experience with SAP operation.

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in accounting and finance. 

• 5 + years of experience with Corporate accounting and Reporting in a corporate finance environment.

• Cost accounting experience is preferable.

• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and ambiguity in a dynamic fast-paced environment. 

• Strong analytical skills.

• Consistent proactive and problem-solving mindset.

• Excellent communication and writing skills in Japanese and advanced English communication skills (TOEIC 800+).  

• Works well in teams while being self-directed and accountable.
