We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead PLC Engineer to join our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, programming, testing, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems across various projects. This role requires in-depth technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead the engineering team in the planning, development, and execution of PLC projects from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources effectively.
System Design and Implementation:
- Design and configure PLC systems to meet specific process requirements.
- Develop and program PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and SCADA systems.
- Implement and test system configurations, including hardware and software components.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Technical Leadership:
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure the quality of engineering deliverables.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in PLC technology and industry trends.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed engineering documents, including design specifications, test protocols, and user manuals.
- Generate progress reports and present project status to management and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all engineering activities and system configurations.
Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide on-site and remote support for PLC systems, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
- Perform system maintenance, upgrades, and optimizations to enhance performance and reliability.
- Assist in the development and execution of system validation and commissioning activities.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in PLC engineering, with a focus on design, programming, and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of PLC systems from major manufacturers, e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric.
- Proven experience in leading engineering projects and managing teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel as needed for project requirements.
Nice to have, but not required
- Experience in the manufacturing, automotive, or food and beverage industries.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards, such as OSHA, NFPA, and IEC.
- Certification in PLC programming or related control systems.
- Proficiency in related software tools and programming languages.
