Aviagen is hiring candidates for Hatcher Lead Position. This position will be responsible for assisting with Hatchery management. This role will ensure that maintenance of buildings and equipment are kept up to standards and additionally ensuring compliance of the Human resources, Animal Welfare, Safety, Workers Comp, Quality and Biosecurity programs and policies by all individuals.Job Description:
Skills Required
- 5 years experience in hatchery or as a hatchery supervisor
- Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform tasks under direct supervision
- Microsoft Office computer skills
- Ability to maintain and record hatchery data accurately
- Ability to troubleshoot hatchery equipment (incubators, hatchers, injectors)
- Familiarity with controller and ventilation systems and adjusting incubation settings
- Ability to lead hatchery in manager's absence and direct hourly employees (no disciplinary authority)
- High school level proficiency in reading, writing, and arithmetic
- Ability to perform repetitive work and stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environment and up to 6 days a week including weekends and holidays
- Work with chemicals (detergents, disinfectants) and adhere to biosecurity, safety, and animal welfare programs
