This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments.

About the Role:

  • We're looking for a Hardware Test Engineer to join our Compute Hardware team. You’ll help validate our automotive-grade PCB designs by performing board-level testing, automating lab workflows, and supporting early prototype hardware characterization.

  • This role is ideal for someone with a passion for hands-on validation, strong lab skills, and experience with OEM testing protocols.

  • Motivation: a lot of learning opportunities since we design and test next generation boards/hardware solutions for customers in all verticals/industries.

  • Ownership: we’re a small and nimble hardware team with a pretty large scope so every EE will own a significant project and also have the opportunity to learn and contribute to other projects in our team

    • We also execute a lot of vehicle level builds - so there’s plenty of opportunity to own system level testing and validation for complex software defined vehicle builds and SDS builds

  • Technical areas: we build infotainment, ADAS, and controller units for software-defined vehicles. A technical step to enable an industry-wide transition.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute and improve validation test plans for custom automotive PCBs

  • Characterize board performance using lab equipment (oscilloscope, power supply, electronic loads, DAQ, etc.)

  • Automate lab equipment and test routines using Python or similar scripting languages

  • Analyze and document results in clear, concise reports for internal teams and external customers

  • Collaborate with electrical design, system integration, and software teams to support board bring-up and root cause analysis

  • Interpret and follow OEM test protocols (e.g., LV124, ISO 16750, CISPR, etc.)

  • Maintain lab setups and improve test efficiency with reusable infrastructure

About You:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

  • 2–6 years of hands-on experience in board-level testing and validation

  • Comfortable working in a lab setting with test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power meters, etc.)

  • Familiar with thermal, structural, and electrical stress testing

  • Experience with test automation (Python, LabView, or similar)

  • Familiarity with vehicle or consumer electronics validation flows

  • Strong documentation and communication skills

  • Prior exposure to automotive/agriculture/construction/defense OEM or Tier 1 supplier test protocols

  • Comfortable reading schematics and debugging at component level

Don’t meet every single requirement? If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
