What You’ll Do:
As a Senior/Staff Hardware Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the robust and efficient operation of our hardware infrastructure at X. Your responsibilities will include:
Designing and architecting hardware systems to support our overall platform
Collaborating cross-functionally with external software engineering teams and other stakeholders to understand current and future hardware needs
Developing cost-effective plans for upgrading and maintaining aging hardware systems
Providing insights and direction on hardware requirements and ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Testing and validating hardware components to ensure they meet performance and reliability standards
Directly working with our Datacenter Engineering and Operations teams to troubleshoot complicated hardware issues and ensure successful operation of deployed hardware.
Staying updated on the latest industry trends in hardware engineering and applying best practices to our systems
Who You Are:
We're looking for exceptional engineers who are passionate about our mission and have a strong desire to make a meaningful impact. The ideal candidate will have:
A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in electrical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
5 to 10 years of industry experience in hardware engineering, particularly with large-scale systems and infrastructure
A deep understanding of systems architecture and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
Experience in planning and deploying hardware at scale, with a focus on cost-efficiency and system reliability
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to formulate actionable plans for hardware lifecycle management
Familiarity with testing and validating hardware systems to ensure they meet operational requirements
A practical mindset with a keen understanding of the operational impact of deploying hardware solutions
Able to deliver high quality solutions as an integral member of large scale project teams
Used to thinking outside the box to find solutions to complex problems
Extremely committed, willing to work in a fast paced environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
