About Arsenale Bioyards

Arsenale is reimagining industry for the neo-industrial age — building a new production infrastructure grounded in biology, intelligence, and regeneration. Our proprietary platform unites precision fermentation, advanced hardware, sensing, and AI to enable nature-aligned manufacturing at scale.

We are a collective of neo-industrialists — curious, critical minds united by a commitment to reshaping how the world makes things. International by nature, we work across disciplines and borders, bound by shared values. English is our corporate language.

If you're drawn to systems thinking, deep complexity, and the possibility of building something radically, fundamentally new — we'd like to meet you.

The Opportunity

As our Hardware Engineer, you'll architect the electronic and electromechanical systems that power our next-generation bioreactors, enabling precision fermentation at industrial scale. This role sits at the intersection of advanced electronics, biological systems, and industrial automation, directly influencing our ability to deliver intelligent, nature-aligned manufacturing solutions. You'll shape critical system architectures that bridge the digital and biological worlds, ensuring our automation systems are robust, compliant, and ready for industrial deployment.

Role Purpose

To design and deliver the electronic nervous system that enables Arsenale's biomanufacturing platforms to operate with the precision, reliability, and intelligence required for scalable, nature-aligned production excellence.

Your Impact

  • Engineering custom PCB solutions and sensor networks through innovative design approaches to deliver industrial-grade reliability and precision data acquisition
  • Delivering robust electrical distribution and control systems with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration across our bioproduction platforms
  • Championing safety and compliance standards by implementing EMC/EMI design principles that meet stringent regulatory requirements for biotechnology applications
  • Mentoring technical excellence within interdisciplinary teams to foster system-wide innovation and maintain Arsenale's technological leadership
  • Innovating sustainable electronic solutions by developing eco-efficient systems that align with our commitment to regenerative manufacturing practices
  • Creating custom sensing solutions tailored for biological environments that enable real-time monitoring and control of complex bioprocesses
Essential Capabilities
  • Degree (BEng, MEng, or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Significant hands-on experience in electrical system design, electronic circuit development, PCB layout, and industrial control systems
  • Proven track record in integrating electromechanical systems and designing for industrial automation environments
  • Expertise in sensor technologies, signal processing, data acquisition, and real-time systems for precision applications
  • Strong capability in EMC/EMI design and analysis, with focus on ensuring robust performance in industrial environments
  • Deep understanding of safety standards and compliance regulations (CE marking, UL, etc.) for biotechnology applications
  • Proficiency with laboratory and field testing equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters, etc.)
  • Programming competence in C/C++ and familiarity with modeling/simulation tools (Python, MATLAB/Simulink)
Adaptive Qualities
  • Systems thinking mindset capable of understanding complex interactions between electronics, biology, and industrial processes
  • Mentorship approach comfortable leading technical discussions and supporting team growth in a rapidly scaling startup environment
  • Startup-oriented ownership mentality, thriving in ambiguous environments with rapid iteration while taking full accountability for system performance across interdisciplinary collaborations
