About the Role
As an EMC Test and Design Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for executing and analyzing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests on telematic systems. Your responsibilities will include preparing test setups, configuring measurement equipment, performing tests in accordance with automotive standards, and documenting and interpreting test results. In addition, you will contribute to the optimization of designs and test methods to ensure EMC compliance and support continuous improvement efforts.
You will apply your expertise in EMC principles, measurement techniques, and regulatory requirements to help drive product conformity and robust system performance. You will be part of Telematics Development/Engineering Team inside SBU Connectivity and collaborate closely with development and quality teams to support products throughout all stages of the design and validation process. In this role, you will report to Team Leader HW Engineering.
What You Will Do
- Analyze normative requirements and OEM‑specific standards
- Derive test cases from system, hardware, or software requirements
- Define EMC concept and support during schematic and PCB design
- Utilize EMC simulation tools to assess system performance and support data‑driven design optimization.
- Create test strategies, test plans, and verification concepts
- Set up and configure the test environment
- Perform manual or automated tests
- Operate test benches and laboratory equipment
- Conduct measurements and functional verification
- Evaluate and interpret measurement results
- Identify malfunctions, deviations, or potential risks
- Support root‑cause analysis activities
- Support design verification measurements like electrical or temperature tests
- Collaborate with developers to resolve issues
- Create test reports, test logs, and deviation reports
- Manage test data and ensure traceability
- Present test results in development meetings
- Continuously improve test processes and methodologies
- Participate in FMEAs, reviews, and release discussions
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification
- Hands‑on experience with component, system, or software testing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in EMC testing, validation processes, and measurement technologies
- Experience with schematic/layout design tools, simulation environments, and standard Microsoft applications
- Strong verbal and written English skills
- High level of creativity combined with solid analytical problem‑solving capabilities
- Effective communication skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Ability to articulate complex technical topics clearly and defend engineering decisions
- Proven ability to collaborate within cross‑functional engineering teams
Bonus Points if You Have
- Familiarity with Simulation Tools like HFSS
- At least 3 years professional experience in the HW development and verification of analog/digital applications and standalone functional units
- Knowledge of the requirements inside the automotive area, especially for EMC
- Knowledge of commonly used interfaces in telematic systems (PCIe, UART, Ethernet, I2C, I2S, SPI, USB …) appreciated
- Experience with NAD network simulator
