You will be responsible for mixed signal circuit and board design, PCB design, and collaborating with a team of FPGA designers and software engineers. WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on engineering design and test experience, preferred
  • Required: the eligibility to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

 

Responsibilities

  • Mixed signal circuit and board design, simulation, implementation, and verification
  • PCB design for high-speed digital camera interfaces such as Camera Link (Base, Medium, and Full), and custom high speed (up to 2GHz) differential serial
  • FMC and SoM daughter card design for serial data interfaces
  • Collaborate with a team of FPGA designers, software engineers, and test developers
  • Design power supply, digital circuitry with high speed, high-performance Xilinx FPGAs, and latest DDR SDRAM and Flash memory technology
  • Signal Integrity requirements and report evaluations
  • Layout constraints, guidance, and review
  • Testing and qualifying prototype boards


Desired Experience/Skills:

  • Experience with mixed signal PCB design including FPGAs, SoCs, linear and switching voltage regulators, clock circuits, and high-speed serial data circuits
  • Experience with high-speed differential layout
  • Experience in FPGA PCB layout (Xilinx UltraScale / RFSoC) utilizing gigabit serial transceivers
  • Understanding high-speed signaling and signal integrity
  • Understanding of digital electronics is required
  • Fluency in Altium Designer strongly desired
  • Experience with the VPX standard strongly is a plus
  • Ability to design FPGA/CPLD logic in Verilog or VHDL is a plus
  • Image Sensor interface experience is preferred.
  • Experience bringing up prototype hardware.
  • Familiar with board-level signal integrity simulation tools.
  • Experience writing and executing test plans to verify board-level mixed signal circuits.
  • Familiar with common benchtop instruments such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, function generators, and power supplies.
  • Familiar with Xilinx, Intel, or Lattice FPGAs and CPLDs, as well as their design tools.
  • Experience collaborating with other technical disciplines such as Analog, Software, Mechanical, and RF.
  • Familiarity with standard SPICE simulation suites
  • SFP+ and gigabit MAC experience is a plus


OUR BENEFITS: Fifth Gait offers competitive salaries and outstanding benefits including company paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, annual bonuses, and a retirement plan including company matching.

SALARY RANGE: $110,000-$130,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
