Job Responsibilities:
The Material Handler at Co-Ex-Tec is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and handling of materials within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures that production lines are supplied with the necessary materials and components, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports overall production efficiency.
**Please note this is a Nightshift position (10pm-6am)
  • Ensure all inventory control procedures are followed at all times.
  • Supply work cells area with materials and remove finished goods to shipping.
  • Work closely with production supervisors/team leader, quality control, and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Make boxes for workers and drive the forklift in a safe manner as required. Forklifts are to be used only to stack or dismount loads or to transport heavy loads that the pallet mover cannot handle.
  • Use hand operated pallet trucks only to move material within the work cells.
  • Empty scrap bins as required; Collect scrap during shift and at the end of shift. Properly dispose of or recycle scrap materials and packaging waste.
  • Ensure bar code labels are printed properly and in place before moving finished goods to the warehouse.
  • Sweep aisle at least once every shift and support other 5S and Mafact objectives throughout the plant.
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory audits as required.
  • Track Inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
  • Follow all warehouse management procedures for scanning in and out material for inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure that the highest levels of quality and efficiency standards are encouraged and maintained.
  • Follow all work cell and/or department standardized work instructions/procedures.
  • Initiate and/or participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure materials are stored and handled in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to all company safety and environmental rules and policies.
  • Report any unsafe conditions/hazard to management.
  • Promote and comply with health, safety, and ISO 14001 environmental standards, safe operating procedures and the observance of protective equipment at all times.
  • Ensure, with the cooperation of other Co-Ex-Tec departments and Corporate that the division achieves and maintains the highest possible Customer rating for satisfaction; strive for zero defects in all areas of the business.
  • Ensure compliance and enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety (ISO 45001), EMS (ISO14001), and security (PIP) requirements.
  • Attend authorized training in order to develop and/or maintain relevant job-related knowledge, techniques, skills, and/or certification.
  • May be required to carry out job duties and responsibilities in a work environment that may include, but is not limited to, varying levels of noise and/or temperature.
  • Any other reasonable duty required by management.

Qualifications:
  • Secondary School Diploma, or equivalent, preferred
  • Good communication skills including written and verbal English as well as basic math skills; interpersonal skills
  • Must have valid forklift certificate (Counterbalance and Reach)
  • Successful completion of forklift medical exam required
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and analytical abilities
  • Effective computer skills, including knowledge of software in current use.
  • Manual dexterity; able to lift heavy objects specific to operation.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, an asset

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Conditions may cause some stress or physical discomfort due to moderate exposure to elements or constant exposure to moderately disagreeable internal or external conditions.

Compensation Range: $24.57- $28.27/per hour
