OverviewThe Data‑Literate Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in transforming complex, large‑scale data into meaningful insights, clear visual narratives, and actionable business requirements. This role sits at the intersection of data analysis, business problem‑solving, and data product development. You’ll work closely with data engineers, product teams, and senior stakeholders to ensure that data is understood, trusted, and used to drive strategic decisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Analysis & Interpretation- Perform extensive data manipulation, cleansing, and transformation across large and complex datasets.
- Analyse structured and unstructured data to identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and root causes.
- Apply statistical and analytical techniques to validate findings and support evidence‑based decision‑making.
- Investigate data quality issues, quantify their impact, and support remediation planning.
- Develop compelling data visualisations, dashboards, and graphical outputs using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.
- Translate analytical findings into clear, executive‑level reporting that supports strategic conversations and decision‑making.
- Present insights in a way that is accessible to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Convert analytical insights into well‑structured business and functional requirements for data products, data models, and reporting solutions.
- Collaborate with data engineering and architecture teams to shape data pipelines, data models, and metadata requirements.
- Define acceptance criteria, user stories, and process flows that reflect the needs uncovered through data analysis.
- Support the design and prioritisation of data quality remediation activities, ensuring alignment with business value.
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring clarity, alignment, and shared understanding.
- Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, and data deep‑dives to uncover business needs and data‑driven opportunities.
- Communicate complex data concepts in a clear, concise, and influential manner.
- Strong proficiency in data manipulation using SQL, Python, Excel, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex datasets and derive meaningful insights.
- Advanced data visualisation skills with experience producing executive‑ready dashboards and reports.
- Proven experience translating analytical findings into business requirements for data products or data‑driven solutions.
- Solid understanding of data models, data architecture concepts, and data quality principles.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Typically, 7+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role
• Proven experience in infrastructure technology
• Proficiencies in data management
• A continuous learner who stays abreast with industry knowledge and technology
Other Qualifications:
• An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus
• Relevant certifications such as ITIL or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) are a plus
