Job Summary: The Supervisor of GOS Applications Engineering is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the Applications Engineering team supporting fire alarm, sprinkler, and life safety system projects. This role oversees engineering quality, workload distribution, process improvement, code compliance, and technical support while ensuring deliverables are accurate, timely, and aligned with Bosch BT standards. 

Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervise Applications Engineers and support CAD Designers as assigned.
  • Assign and balance engineering workloads to meet project schedules, customer commitments, and internal priorities.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop engineering personnel to strengthen technical capability.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and establish professional development plans.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on complex fire alarm and life safety projects.
  • Review and approve fire alarm and life safety system designs for technical accuracy, constructability, and code compliance.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet Bosch BT standards, sales requirements, project specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce engineering best practices, design standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Review final drawings, calculations, sequences of operation, equipment selections, and submittal packages.
  • Support resolution of design conflicts, field issues, coordination concerns, and technical challenges.
  • Serve as an escalation point for code interpretation, design standards, and AHJ-related engineering concerns.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables support successful project execution and reduce field rework.
  • Assist sales teams with system concepts, budgetary guidance, preliminary designs, and technical approach.
  • Review project scope, plans, and specifications during proposal development.
  • Validate engineering assumptions, estimate inputs, and project requirements when needed.
  • Participate in technical reviews, design meetings, and project kickoff meetings.
  • Advanced fire alarm system design knowledge.
  • Advanced sprinkler system design knowledge.
  • Hydraulic calculations and water-based system design.
  • Fire alarm system integration and network architecture.
  • AutoCAD and Bluebeam proficiency.
  • Revit/BIM coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and project delivery methods.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facility requirements.
  • Team leadership, coaching, and employee development.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-year technical degree in Electronics or equivalent experience/training.
  • 5+ years of Construction Project Management experience or related field
  • BS degree in Electrical, Construction Management, or other related studies is excellent.  
  • Ability to manage a team of 5 or more members
  • An understanding of basic computer operating systems.
  • The ability to configure and debug basic computer problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing. 
  • An ability to understand empathetically the issues and perceptions others have and to creatively and successfully work through these issues to achieve a successful outcome and customer and employee satisfaction.
  • Clean driving record 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple engineers, projects, deadlines, and priorities at the same time.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, mentor, and develop technical employees.
  • Strong awareness of company culture, customer expectations, and the industry environment in which the team works.
  • Ability to understand the issues and perceptions of others and to work through them professionally to achieve successful outcomes, customer satisfaction, and employee development.
  • Prior technical leadership, training, mentoring, project coordination, or supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Demands: 

In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 

  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English, (ie see, hear, speak and write clearly) in order to communicate with colleagues and/or customers 
  • Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching, lifting of light office objects, and operating office equipment 
  • Sitting, standing, walking in office environments and construction sites 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet) 

Working Conditions: 

In general, the following conditions of the work environment are representative of those that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated.  Noise levels are considered low to moderate 
  • Will be required to be on site with customers or contractors, with or without Paladin colleagues to manage the expectations and deliverables. Sites range from general office environments to new construction. 
  • Driving to customer sites is required 
  • Limited overnight travel may be required

  • Working Hours: This position generally works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary
