Group Legal Counsel, Data Privacy

This role owns Stillfront's data privacy work end to end, with real scope to shape how it's run and where it goes next. It's a genuinely global mandate too, not a Swedish role with a global label attached: your remit covers every studio and function we have, wherever they sit. You'll be based in Stockholm, working alongside colleagues in Sweden, Germany, India and the UAE, with regular contact across studios, functions and advisors worldwide. You'll report to the Group General Counsel.

You'll work closely with our external Data Protection Officer on the formal DPO function. The substance underneath it, strategy, policies, assessments, and the judgment calls that come up most weeks, is yours. On top of that you'll advise on commercial and studio agreements, and instruct and manage outside counsel when we need them for disputes.

• Run Stillfront's approach to data privacy: one consistent, risk-based programme across a group of studios that each operate fairly independently

• Own GDPR and data protection work end-to-end, policies, DPIAs, RoPA, data processing agreements, cross-border transfers and incident response, across studios on three continents

• Work with our external DPO to keep governance solid and statutory obligations covered, while you run the programme day to day

• Train and support the privacy leads embedded in our studios, so good decisions get made locally without everything having to run through you

• Advise on and negotiate commercial and studio agreements, from first draft through to signature

• Instruct and manage outside counsel on disputes and specialist matters, and hold them to the standard we expect

• Keep on top of GDPR, AI regulation and everything in between, turn it into guidance people can use, and report on progress and risk to senior stakeholders

• Minimum 5 years PQE, from a Swedish law firm and/or an in-house legal team, with real ownership of data privacy matters

• A track record of developing or scaling a privacy function, not just keeping one ticking over

• Solid working knowledge of GDPR and data protection principles, plus real commercial contract

  experience

• Experience instructing and managing outside counsel on disputes or complex matters

• Comfort making decisions with minimal oversight, and the confidence to hold your position when

  things are ambiguous

• Comfortable working in a changing environment, where priorities and structures can shift, and able to adjust without losing focus

• A pragmatic, outgoing style: you turn legal requirements into guidance non-lawyers can follow, and

  you're comfortable with stakeholders at every level, across cultures and time zones

• Native-level Swedish and fluent, professional English

• Appetite for a fast-paced, international environment; a background in gaming, tech or another digital industry helps

It's a small, senior legal team, and the kind of colleagues you learn from just by sitting near them. The work is genuinely international, in the same week you might be advising a studio in Hamburg, a function in Stockholm, and a partner in APAC. It's demanding, but it's fun too.
