As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Group Head of Finance to lead financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive financial strategy at both the company and crowdfunded property levels.

Role Overview

The Group Head of Finance will be responsible for overseeing all financial matters of SmartCrowd and its affiliated entities, ensuring compliance with DFSA and FSRA regulations, managing investor funds, and providing financial insights to the leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, regulatory reporting, and real estate finance within a DFSA- and FSRA-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

A) Financial Management & Compliance

1. Prepare and maintain the company’s financial accounts and statements, including consolidation at the group level.
2. Prepare and submit quarterly and annual financial returns to DFSA and FSRA via EPRS.
3. Serve as the key liaison with DFSA and FSRA on financial matters, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
4. Provide the Board of Directors and Investors with periodic financial performance and condition reports.
5. Oversee the approval and execution of all disbursements, ensuring sound financial control.
6. Supervise financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, and payroll functions.
7. Liaise with external auditors for financial audits and regulatory returns.
8. Prepare and submit VAT and Corporate Tax (CT) returns for the group to the FTA.

B) Client Money & Investor Funds Management

1. Manage client money accounts, ensuring proper handling of investor funds in compliance with DFSA/FSRA regulations.
2. Perform regular reconciliations of client money accounts and report discrepancies as required.

C) Crowdfunded Property Financials

1. Oversee the distribution of rental income for all properties managed by SmartCrowd.
2. Maintain detailed records of income and expenses for crowdfunded properties.
3. Ensure accurate and timely disbursement of sales proceeds related to property exits.
4. Perform frequent reconciliations of client money accounts related to crowdfunded properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 5-6 years in financial management, preferably in a DFSA/FSRA-regulated entity.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Must be a DFSA- and FSRA-authorized individual with expertise in UAE financial regulations.
• Industry Background: Strong experience in real estate finance, with knowledge of property investment structures.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CFA are preferred.
