The Group Creative Director is an integrated thinker who is an exceptional idea generator in concepting and production experience across a variety of visual/communication channels. This individual is responsible for creating a culture of creative excellence in ensuring projects under their purview is aligned with the ECD’s expectation for creative objectives in the agency. The Group Creative Director will also be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of ongoing creative projects and owning client relationships as they guide the CD and ACDs in their work. As a leader, this person mentors colleagues, clients, and agency partners.
Key Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Directs and inspires the creative team by setting standards for creative products to ensure it’s of the highest caliber
- Leads selling creative projects in collaboration with the Business Development team to pitch or have conversations with potential clients
- Leads the execution of creative work by bringing innovative ideas and approaches to the creative team
- Contributes strategic insight for high-level projects and new business through developing creative briefs under the guidance of the ECD
- Exhibits a deep knowledge of client brands, audiences, and happenings in healthcare, life science, and digital and harnesses it to drive outstanding creative
- Collaborates across department leads to create strong internal partnerships to address client needs
- Guides and motivates ACDs and below in strategic decision-making, creative problem-solving, and designing/creating content to it’s greatest potential
- Serves as the "conscience" of the creative product, ensuring the creative team leads are staying true to both strategy and creative vision
- Masters a focus on multiple priorities such as work quality, staffing, workload, workflow, team happiness, and client relations
- Fosters growth of direct reports through inclusion, empowerment and collaboration with account, strategy and project management teams
- Represents creative POV to senior agency team
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in related industry position (prior CD or GCD)
- Proven team leadership in building and mentoring a cross-category creative team
- Experience
- Superior verbal and written communication skills used to engage, persuade, inspire, and motivate clients, team members, and peers
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; systematic and detail-oriented
- Experienced presenter and ability to pitch
- Exceptional portfolio with experience across a variety of media, brand work, and industry

As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $165,000 - $185,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At CG Life, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the plan. CG Life offers a variety of benefits, including health benefits, 401K retirement with a generous company match and immediate vesting, and flexible time off.
