Copenhagen Infrastructure Service Company (CISC) - a company working exclusively for the global fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), is currently looking for a Grid Engineer (Manager) to join the team in Metro Manila, Philippines.

The role

The Grid Engineer (Manager) plays a critical role in the successful development and execution of renewable energy projects by ensuring seamless integration with the grid network. This position leads the technical strategy and execution for grid connectivity, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to assess feasibility, manage interconnection processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The role is essential in de-risking projects and enabling timely, cost-effective delivery of clean energy solutions.

Responsibilities will further consist of:

  • Lead grid connection assessment, strategy formulation, route identification (including re-routings) and execution for renewable energy projects.

  • Serve as the liaison with NGCP and manage System Impact Studies (SIS), grid feasibility assessments, and interconnection applications

  • Develop and supervise the engineering of high voltage installations, substations and high voltage lines, from basic engineering, permitting engineering, bidding documents engineering, and detailed engineering, including ensuring compliance with national grid codes and safety standards.

  • Support project development from early-stage feasibility through to execution and commissioning

  • Collaborate with engineering, permitting, and commercial teams to align grid strategy with project timelines.

  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the direct manager

Main stakeholders:

  • Business Development Director

  • Project development team members

  • External project stakeholders such as NGCP, government agencies, technical consultants and contractors

You

  • Bachelor's/Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.

  • Licensed Electrical Engineer or equivalent is highly preferred.

  • 8-10 years working experience within the energy/electric industry, with extensive experience in grid assessment, grid connection, transmission line, and substations for utility scale energy projects. Former experience with National Grid Corporation of the Philippines is a plus.

  • Regulatory knowledge: in-depth understanding of the Philippine energy market, regulatory processes and permitting requirements

  • Stakeholder management: can coordinate with partners and maintain key stakeholder relationships

  • Good network: must have an established network of industry professionals, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for various stages and scope of works of development activities.

  • Good communication skills: Fluent in English and Filipino with strong communication and presentation skills, including having ability to document project information and risks in a concise manner.

  • Team-oriented: ability to take initiative and work proactively within a lean team and manage different workstreams simultaneously.

  • Highly responsible and motivated individual who is thriving in a highly effective and innovative environment
