Job DescriptionRole: Greenplum DBA
Location: Montreal, Canada
Duration: 6+ Months / Fulltime
BGV will be done for the selected candidates.
Position is for a Greenplum database administrator (DBA) in the Greenplum DBA team which is part of core DBA Operations team. This position is based in the Montreal office. Team is responsible for providing day to day Greenplum DBA support for MSWM and ISG Greenplum installations (software only). Some of the day to day activities are: Greenplum software installation, patch upgrades, performance monitoring, change implementation, performance tuning, backup and recovery, user maintenance, new database setup, educating users, troubleshooting user issues, etc. Greenplum DBA team is responsible for coordinating all hardware changes with respective Infrastructure teams and performing software changes/patch upgrades/major upgrades.
Qualifications
Experience in Greenplum Database 4.2 or higher
Greenplum database administration including installation of Greenplum database software, configuration, troubleshooting , database object creation, routine maintenance tasks
Greenplum performance monitoring and troubleshooting
Familiarity with Postgres database
Greenplum Database Design
Greenplum Command Center
Greenplum Workload Management
Greenplum Query Tuning
Experience with Greenplum Data Loading using gpload/external tables
Experience in working with EMC/Pivotal Support
Experience with Production Support and working on shifts/on-call rotation.
Proficiency in Unix OS and shell/perl/python scripting
