Position Overview:
Graphite Systems is seeking a seasoned, customer-facing experienced Project Manager for its near-shore location. In this role, you will lead the delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives for enterprise clients—including Fortune 100 and mid-sized companies—within a highly matrixed environment. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring project alignment with business goals, driving execution, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Manages all aspects of complex, cross-functional projects.
o Determines personnel and resource requirements to complete projects and negotiates availability of resources, as needed.
o Plans, organizes, schedules, controls, and monitors assigned projects to ensure that timely completion, cost effectiveness, and functionality are met.
o Coordinates the gathering and analysis of pertinent information re user requirements, workflow, etc., and the development of solutions, including scope and objectives.
o Coordinates enhancement of existing products/systems and/or implementation of new products/systems with appropriate operations groups.
o Identifies and resolves time, resource, and priority conflicts among projects. Alert managers to conflicts requiring resolution at higher levels.
o Conducts ongoing assessments of projects to ensure that project plans continue to meet business needs.
o Provides status reports as required. Ensures that stakeholders are kept informed of the status, risks, and issues surrounding their projects.
o Contract management: collaborates with Sales and management team to write Statements of Work and Change Orders
o Lead customers’ Steering Committee or Executive meetings as needed
● Manages project teams in a matrixed organization by:
o Allocating and coordinating the work, establishing priorities, and guiding the team as required.
o Ensuring project management standards and best practices are followed, balancing the competing needs for process and standards with responsiveness and flexibility.
o Preparing and monitoring the budget for staff and project activities.
o Ensuring that prescribed policies, procedures, and controls are followed.
● Works with users, support units, and development sections in developing, planning, scheduling, and implementing new systems, software, services, products and applications.
● Achieves utilization set utilization metrics across customer engagements.
● Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
● Demonstrated exceptional project management skills. Ability to manage implementation projects of Graphite platform for customers and supervise people. Strong knowledge of scheduling and organizing projects and use of Project Management software applications, such as Smartsheet, MS Project and equivalent.
● Ability to exercise independent judgment and conflict resolution techniques, recognizing which issues should be escalated to higher levels for resolution.
● Ability to work effectively and independently in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
● Strong knowledge of software product and/or systems development and implementation methodologies.
● Demonstrated knowledge of all stages of the systems and/or product design and software development lifecycles.
● Excellent oral and written English communications skills to communicate, negotiate, advise, or resolve issues that are highly complex including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users effectively.
● Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
● Knowledge of budgeting analysis and cost control practices.
● Ability to write Statements of Work and Change Orders in support of projects
● Demonstrated ability to provide timely and effective support to users and first line support staff on highly complex problems involving multiple systems.
● Demonstrated excellent listening and analytical skills to understand concerns and risks identified by customers.
● Ability to collaborate in a distributed team environment in a startup culture, demonstrated sense of ownership and initiative to solve problems and drive for completion.
● Strong customer service skills and excellent problem-solving ability.
Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree with coursework in information systems, business, data analytics, supply chain, or equivalent experience is required. Formal experience in project management is strongly preferred.
● Minimum 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in information systems, including at least 4+ years of experience managing mid-sized projects required.
Special Requirements:
● Must be able to travel to the US for customer and/or Graphite meetings
● Experience working for a US company is a plus
● Experience working with global multinational organizations is a plus
