Founded in August 2012, International Women’s Initiative (IWI) is a Community Interest Company (CIC) working towards the promotion of women's rights and gender equality around the world. We believe that we will achieve this through the creation of volunteer and professional networks and the provision of a platform for engaging in constructive commentary and ideas-sharing in the field. Funds raised by the organisation are used to support and resource partnerships with community-based organisations or projects. We are currently focusing on advancing our Safe Birthing Programme which seeks to reduce the high levels of maternal mortality in the Amolatar District, Uganda.
Job DescriptionWe need a graphic designer to help us maintain our website and also develop visual materials for our social media and other outlets. This is a VOLUNTEER POSITION.
Duties: Reporting directly to the Director of Communications, the Graphic Designer will be expected to contribute towards raising awareness of IWI's mission and projects by creating graphics and updating our website. We need a graphic designer to help us maintain our website and also develop visual materials for our social media and other outlets.
Profile
- Ability to use Adobe Creative Suite (also must have ACS on their computer)
- Proficient in Wix
- Ability to analyze research and produce graphics based on findings.
- Strong communication skills
- Photo editing skills
- Ability to follow brand guidelines (TBD) and help establish new ones
- Passion for women's rights and issues
Job Duties
- Work closely in relation to the communications team
- Report directly to the Director of Communications
- Keep website (currently on Wix) constantly up to date with new graphics, news, and updates (received from the Communications Team)
- Create infographics and banners for social media regularly
- Analyze research findings and create easy-to read infographics based on research.
- Some photo editing

Time Commitment: The minimum commitment is an average of 10-20 hours per week including a weekly one on one meeting with Operations Director, Amaranta Thompson and Director of Communications, Alyssa Chassman.
