Meyocks is searching for a Graphic Design Intern ready to use their skills to jump headfirst into agency life. You’ll work with the creative team and other functional areas to apply your design skills across a range of marketing materials and mediums.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in learning the fundamentals of graphic design within a fast-paced, collaborative agency environment, while bringing a “give a damn” attitude to every assignment.
Job Summary:
The Graphic Design Intern will support the creative team in producing visually engaging materials across print and digital platforms, while learning to work within established brand identities and design systems. This includes assisting with the creation of design assets for various media, participating in select photoshoots or production processes as needed, and helping translate ideas and concepts into clear, compelling visuals under the guidance of art directors and creative directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creative Support & Execution
- Assist in designing visual materials across print and digital platforms, including packaging, marketing campaigns, logos and branding, and social media assets.
- Support the creation of design concepts that align with established brand identities and target audiences.
- Participate in select photoshoots and observe production processes to better understand how creative concepts are executed.
- Help translate ideas and direction into clear, visually engaging designs for presentations, ads, packaging, and web or digital interfaces.
- Project Support & Organization
- Support multiple projects at various stages while learning to manage time, quality, and deadlines.
- Collaborate with art directors, account managers, strategists, and content creators by taking direction and incorporating feedback into design work.
- Apply brand guidelines and design standards consistently across assigned projects.
- Team Collaboration & Learning
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews, contributing ideas and learning from feedback and critique.
- Production & Technical Learning
- Assist with preparing files for print and production under the guidance of senior designers.
- Learn about printer specifications and regulatory considerations as they relate to packaging and print materials.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Proficient in Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
· Detail-oriented and can take initiative while managing multiple projects.
· Ability to take strategic, brand-enhancing ideas and make them come to life with graphic elements.
· Thrive in a collaborative, team environment.
· Able to handle the pressure of short- and long-term deadlines.
· Flexible and open to feedback.
· Must be a self-starter, quick learner and proactive.
Education and Experience:
· A student working towards a bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing or related fields.
· Experience in Microsoft Office and project management software such as Asana.
· 1-2 years of relevant experience through internships, campus activities, volunteering, class work or transferable work experience.
Other Requirements:
· Internship can be virtual, in-person or hybrid.
· Looking for intern to work at least 20 hours per week.
· Meyocks can be flexible with hours to accommodate class schedules.
