Grants Specialist

Kaimetrix is seeking a Grants Specialist to join our team based in in Washington, DC. The Grants Specialist (SME) will provide extensive enterprise-wide knowledge and expertise in federal grant-making policies, procedures, and administration across the full grant lifecycle. This role is key in providing strategic advice and technical guidance to ensure efficient grant management, oversight, and compliance, while optimizing and advancing grant administration processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer expert insight on federal grant-making policies and industry-standard solutions for assessments and data analysis.
  • Provide strategic advice and technical guidance to program and project staff, aiding in mission-critical improvements and optimization efforts.
  • Develop and implement best practices for data collection methodologies and analyses related to federal grant administration, oversight, and audits.
  • Collaborate with customer to define requirements and lead surveys to collect and analyze data, offering actionable recommendations.
  • Influence complex project objectives by providing high-level vision and strategic direction to program managers and team members.
  • Train, supervise, and monitor key staff in daily federal grant administration tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations at all levels.
  • Develop and refine grant policies, procedures, process flows, document management systems, and reporting practices.
  • Maintain a keen eye for detail, applying logical thinking and strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Stay current with new business and technical concepts, integrating these into grant administration practices.
  • Demonstrate strong team leadership and risk management capabilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in planning, conducting, and participating in grant administration and management activities.
  • Master’s Degree in Public Policy or a related discipline.
  • Grants Management certification is highly desired.

Substitution Criteria:

  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience in federal grant administration and compliance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy or a related discipline.
  • Grants Management certification is highly desired.
  • US Citizen
  • Current or Past DOJ experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in developing grant policy and overseeing compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Capacity to lead, train, and supervise teams in a collaborative environment.
